May I ask if this has been or will be updated to coincide with the new version of Undermountain released with Dungeon of the Mad Mage? I'd be interested in running this as part of Dragon Heist and then leading DH into DotMM.

Hey Dave, care to share a bit more about this? Like how many pages? How many maps and images? 2 hours seems pretty short, how many encounters are their? Thanks!

Sure! It's a total of 19 pages, with the following breakdown:

1 page title
4 pages of Undermountain history/overview
3 pages Yawning Portal information, including patrons and random events
2 pages Undermountain general game info, including random dungeon dressing and random encounters
5 pages "The Well" 2 hour scenario containing 11 encounter areas
3 pages monster statistics to support "The Well"
1 map of the Well area matching to the encounter areas

I hope this is helpful, thank you!

The Undermountain should *not* be a place for 2nd level characters.

I definitely agree that most of it is not for those characters, but the first few rooms just below the Yawning Portal, as they see more traffic than any other site, usually stays clear of the most dangerous of foes. An inexperienced party that wanders too far, however, risks it all, as future UMN modules will show!

Disagree here's why: Expedition to Undermountain ( A Campaign Adventure for Characters of Level 1-10)
Anyone can scale a dungeon.

Undermountain for 2nd level characters - I sure hope they don't get lost.

This one just covers the area below the Well from the Yawning Portal, but still - there's plenty of opportunity to get eaten or lost in the depths of Undermountain!

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
