@Sam R - I think if the party is out and about at night, or they have set a watch in an area where the the minions are headed, then they should be able to see/hear the minions. If they choose to sleep in the Shepherds hut, or not set a watch, then I'd say they only notice things in the morning. Make sure to lay the guilt on thick! :)

I loved this adventure, my group and I ran this on Roll20 during quarantine and it was a lot of fun. I even got to kill a PC with Karahl-Guhl :D

No idea if the creator is still reading this, but any one feel free to help me here. Trying my best not to post any spoilers here.

I'm working on putting this together for my players in a week or two and I'm kind of confused about the section just under the notes about the NPCs dice pool (which is a cool idea btw).
When it talks about encounters in the town it says:
On Nights 2 and 3, after the randomly-generated encounter, Karahl-Guhl’s minions attack, as noted on those nights’ tables.
No where though does it give a table for random encounters or even hint at what those random encounters should be. Also, does the party get a chance to defend the attacks from the monsters coming in at night stealing people away? The night 2 encounter really makes it sound like it just happens and there isn't anything the PCs can do about it, because it makes it clear what the outcome of the attack is.

hey man, we are playing through this right now, i really dig it!

but is there a point i should give my players a level up? Playing without experience points..

Also page 20, when the road disappears into the bog, the DC rises to 20 riight?
I should have wrote down the spots where i thought this might be a type :'D

really nice adventure though, my players love it!

Hi! I've found a tiny error that you might want to fix if possible. On page 11, in the A10 Burned Farm section, part of the text reads: "Returning it to Ilan (Area A10) as a remembrance of his friend moves him to tears and gives him a Positive impression of the PCs."

Ilan is in area A9, not A10. It's a very small thing but I thought I'd let you know. I'm starting a playthrough tomorrow and will review the adventure once we have finished it.

I made sure the players ran into Alec, even if they hadn't explored the brewery. His explanation that Elyse was changed after she went out into the mire was a good clue. The NPC's can clearly think that the monsters are coming from somewhere outside of the town, and logically the only other place is the mire. I would try to emphasize from an NPC that with fewer people in the village they've done less expeditions into the mire and lost contact with Bog Town. That should be enough to at least get them checking out the mire.

A PC in my game used detect thoughts on a captured thrall and delved deep realizing that there was something beyond the coven controlling the thralls before he was thrust out. So interrogation info could help and you could have the thrall get cut off before he says too much.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
