Personally, I would love to see two things changed.

1. There are some descriptions of Deeds that feel a little strange, not very clear.

2. There doesn't seem to be a way to learn new Deeds at higher levels. Like you forgot to explain that part.

So I really like this and am making some edits, but wonder if a PDF that the text is selectable is possible. I run VTT games and retyping every word is just awful

At first glance, this seems like an amazing take on the gunslinger class! Here are the edits I made, in case anyone's interested.
-- Armor Class: I am removing the "Strong Personality" feature from the No Name archetype lvl 3 stuff and making it a permanent class feature. This means your AC without armor or shields is 10 + Dex Mod + Charisma Mod.
-- The only exception to this is the Buckler Gun, which grants a +2 to AC as stated under weapons.
-- Equipment: As part of the above, I am removing "leather armor" from starting equipment and replacing it with a short sword or any other simple melee weapon.
-- No Name Archetype skill feature: If you are already proficient in the Intimidation skill and you choose the No Name Archetype at 3rd level, you may gain proficiency in any other Charisma based skill.
-- Deeds: Finally, and most importantly, as written this class doesn't specify how you go about learning Deeds, so below is the breakdown of how many deeds...See more

The signature deed of the No Name plus Cheat Death is almost unkillable. I have had munchkins cheat it. Can you fix this?

Seems pretty cool... I am looking for a good Gunslinger class to use in an upcoming campaign, and this is probably the fourth one I have looked at. I think the biggest difference from yours to others is the recovery rate of Grit. Others also use the grit feature, but either recover all of it after a short or long rest, or after getting a crit. Your's is specifically after a long rest. Any thoughts on changing that?
Either way, great work!

Hello! Just wondering, the signature deed "ability" from the no name archtype.
Does it allow 1 deed to be done without spending ANY grit points or just 1 LESS grit point?

Just coming in to comment saying this is my Gunslinger class of Choice.
I was playing my Matt Mercer Gunslinger as a Salesmen and the Man with No Name fits it perfectly.

Just wondering if there will be an updated version anytime in the near future?
Thanks for making a great product. Recommending my friend DL it and try it out soon.

As someone else asked, when do you get new deeds, if ever, for the other archetypes?

Sorry for the late reply! I'm in the process of reinventing some aspects of this class; as it stands, originally the other 2 archetypes didn't go beyond 3 deeds, but I'm changing that. I should have a new rough draft ready to post here sometime later this month. (Hopefully this WEEK, but with things being busy, no promises.) Thank you for your interest and patience!

Looking at the firearms chart, it seems like the ranges for the Pistol and the Revolver are off a bit. Currently the Pistol is 60/180, and the Revolver is 40/120. The Revolver seems to have just been directly lifted from the DMG, which the Pistol got a massive range boost. The DMG also seems to be in error when comparing the range of the Revolver to a semi-automatic pistol, since a Revolver tends to have slightly better accuracy (i.e. better effective range), and the DMG has it slightly worse. Overall, you seem to have given the guns better range (much needed), but it seems like you left the Revolver out in the cold as it were. I would definitely put the Revolver at 60/180 instead, and if 40/120 seems inadequate given that the Pepperbox also has that range and the Double-Barrel Pistol is 50/150, you could make the Pistol 50/150, and maybe drop the Pepperbox down to 30/90 and the Double-Barrel Pistol to 40/120.

Thank you for all the feedback! (It's been extremely instrumental in the revision for this class.)

HI there a quick question about the deeds and how they work! I was wondering it says you know 3 deeds at the start but never get any more in the future apart from on shootist. How then do you take the ones at higher level like level 10? Do you know all the deeds and get a max of 3 (6 for shootist) and Switch them out and prepare them like spells or is there supposed to be a list of gaining extra deeds per level? I love this rule set but this is Just confusing to me and fellow players.

I have the exact same question, though it looks like the Shootist actually gets a max of 9: 3 extra at 3rd, then 3 additional at 7th, 10th, and 15th). As written, it's only the Shootist that ever has more than 3 deeds.

Sorry for the late reply, David S! I'm in the process of reinventing aspects of this class. I'm going to change (and clear up) how deeds are used, and make a few other tweaks. I'll have a new rough draft ready to post here later this month (with any luck, maybe this week); I want to thank you for your interest and patience!

What's the difference between the two versions you have available? They seem pretty much identical after a quick glance

Oh dear, I didn't realize I had two versions available--they ARE pretty much the same, I think one had minor edits and I was trying to take down the old but was having some issues with the site at the time. I'll try to fix that. ^///^;

Question will you do an updated version at some point in the future? I and a few other players who have been using your version of the gunslinger, though amazing and one of the best versions of the gunslinger, it has a few faults. Such as the signature deed and the cheat death deed being able to be abused or Deadeye Deed which needs some clarification. Then we have the firearms themselves which could use some more explanation as to what some of these firearms are or an expansion into some more western era weapons ( Gatling gun, buffalo rifle and carbines) if possible.

Wow, sorry for the super late reply, I actually didn't realize anyone had been using my homebrew version. I haven't had time to test it out myself, but I would absolutely love to update it and make it more playable. I see there are a LOT of other gunslinger homebrews floating around since posting this, so updating mine may no longer really be necessary, but I think that's a project I'd still like to tackle anyway. If you have any feedback you'd like to share, please feel free to email me at elmechanations@gmail.com! (I'll be checking out other takes on the class for ideas on how best to update my own version, and if you can point me in the direction of specific ones, that'd be really kind.) Thanks for stopping by and asking this question.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
