Epic Characters

This 66-page handbook contains progression from 20th to 30th level for all character options found in the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica, Eberron: Rising from the Last War, and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. It also includes epic racial bonuses for all races found in the aforementioned titles, in addition to those found in Elemental Evil Player's Companion, Volo's Guide to Monsters, the Tortle Package, Locathah Rising, and Acquisitions Incorporated.

Lastly, several of Matthew Mercer's character options, such as the Blood Hunter class (2020), the College of the Maestro, the Gunslinger martial archetype, and the Totem of the Duck, have also received epic progression.

Please leave a review after purchase, so we know what you like and/or dislike. It'll help with future iterations of Epic Characters, as well as with the other products we have in the works.

What character sheets and the like do people use for this? Since going online I've been using form-fill PDFs but the standard ones don't have space for Epic Level 1-3 Spells and the custom expandable ones I've tried link fields if I add more pages for spells. Thanks for any help

is there an ETA for Tasha's content?

When, roughly, can we expect the Tasha's update on the subclasses?

Does this include the juggernaut subclass for the barbarian?

This only covers official subclasses. The only homebrew class and subs it incorporates is from Matt Mercer's Blood Hunter.

Shouldn't the proficiency bonus increase to +9 by 30th level?

Damian F October 26, 2020 12:38 pm UTC
It's a deliberate balance choice by the author.

Hey, love your book! You plan on updating each time new content comes out? Because of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything coming out etc. Also, what about UA and the other Matt Mercer homebrew options (i.e. Cobalt Soul Monk etc.)?

The Paladin's Exemplar feature should probably only make you large if you weren't already larger, because as it is a huge or larger creature would shrink when they used it.
Also, if one of the points of the Change Size mythic maneuver is that you can become bigger to deal more damage dice with the resized weapons, it would be nice to have the damage per size chart with the maneuver.
Two things about the Moon Druid's monstrous wild shape as well - are creatures with telepathy but not verbal speech supposed to be allowed, and is there any particular reason the special use is limited to huge creatures?

Am I correct in noticing that for the Moon Druid, Wild Shape Improvement does literally nothing? If I'm thinking correctly, Moon Druids should have the ability to turn into CR 6 beasts at that point (7, by the time they get that ability), which means that even if they got the maximum benefit immediately they are already a whole CR ahead of what that ability offers. I understand that the Moon Druid already has a powerful Wild Shape, but that's the main gimmick.

Are mythic boons and spells awarded after level 30 or on the way to level 30?
Customer avatar
Noah G August 21, 2020 9:00 pm UTC
After level 30. The authors suggest still using epic boons (from the DMG) during levels 20-29 with adjusted XP requirements.

There seems to be a but more that changed than what the change log suggests. A lot more rewording and what not. I do find it interesting that the Orient pdfs were taken down and all references to it were removed (this was called out in the change log). The Artificer's Ability Score Improvement is a direct copy from Barbarian so it allows Strength and Constitution to increase to 28 lol.

I made my own subclass features for the Mythic Odysseys of Theros subclasses so it will be interesting to see how they translate once this is updated.

As for when that update will happen. I would assume it will be after the supposed "Xanathar's 2" book suspected to come later this year.

just out of curiosity, when will then next update be due release of mythic odysseys of Theros?

This may be the wrong place for it but the last sentence on page 10 under Reconstruction Paradigm "...but you still can't do so no more than once on a turn" should have the "can't" changed to "can."

Additionally, could Battle Smith Artificer be added to the Boon of Improved Extra Attack list? Or could the wording be changed to "level 20 in a class or subclass that gives you the Extra Attack feature?" Weapon attacks are a big part of that subclass.

One last question for clarification, the level 28 ability Infusion Mastery is worded in such a way that it should allow you to effectively double the number of *infusions* you have, correct? Since infused items are the limited thing (not infusions or infusions known) and how it's worded as "each of your items..." it would seem that this lets you essentially have the same number of items, but each of them is more powerful now with multiple infusions each. Is this the correct way to interpret it?

Very nice. But the barbarians indomitable vigor is kind of useless. There are no con based skill checks and I've never been asked to make a con check, only a save.

Hey Mark, I'm looking to play a harbinger in one of the coming campaigns and love the flavour it's bringing, it's filling the hole of cultmaster that warlock halfhandedly tried to fill. While was looking through the document when I noticed there seems to be a page missing (A spell description page containing Sword of Order and Twighlight Dust). Any chance of getting that page (or maybe even an update/release to the document)?

Is there a reason why 10th, 11th, and 12th level spell points don't follow the formula for calculating spell points? Following the formula (1.375 x level, rounded up), they should cost 14, 16, and 17 points, respectively

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
