Hey - any chance you'd do a Greyhawk Bestiary? I'd buy if someone is willing to do the work - convert any unique Greyhawk monsters from 2E Greyhawk Monsterous Compendium, Greyhawk Adventures, etc.

Also, Gamma World - but that's a different topic.

As soon as those settings became available on the DMG, yes.

Lennart, great product! I'm finishing my import of these to a personal-use FG module, so I have read through this product fully. Again, great job! Wanted to know if you are still making corrections on this document as I have a few errors/omissions I could reach out to you with.

I haven't done an in depth look at the product yet, but I skimmed it as soon as I purchased it, and I'm pretty excited about the assortment of creatures. While I love having stats for a Phaerimm again, and the stats provided are pretty solid for a less over the top version of the creature, I'd love to see a version closer to the monstrosities that roamed Myth Drannor, complete with some Legendary and/or Lair actions. Not a knock on the product at all, just seeing them made me want more. ;)

I do wish you had included Maulagrym along with all of the other old school Realms creatures, but again, that's just me wanting even more because this already has so many of my old favorites included.

From what I'm seeing here, I'm probably going to be repeating my purchase by picking up the Ravenloft monster product in the future as well.

does this product contain any player characters or just monster entries?

It's just monster entries, no NPCs or PCs. For an overview, check out the PDF preview - it contains the full table of contents with all monsters.

I think something's wrong -- the product is presenting itself for download with filename Ravenloft_Bestiary.pdf and the content's frontispiece is the cutlass-and-bodak-face cover (10 monsters; bastellus, broken one, etc), not this nice new looking black-and-white negative space one.

That's odd. I just published a new book (Ravenloft Bestiary), but I didn't make any changes to this one. The file manager shows that the files for download here should be 391472-Bestiary_of_Faerun_v1.3.pdf and 391472-Bestiary_of_Faerun_Printer-Friendly_v1.3.pdf, and the cover should show a dragon, not the skull. Would you mind checking whether the files for download are still the incorrect ones?

Still broken for me (in the same way).

For what it's worth, the entry in my library that leads me to this page is titled "Ravenloft Bestiary" (so everything in my account except for the text on this product page thinks it's that other product). Maybe it's just my account getting confused? If nobody else is seeing it I'll talk to customer support and stop spamming your discussions ;)

Thanks for checking. That's really odd. If you don't mind checking, what do you see when you are logged out? If the page is still wrong while you are logged out, it's probably a general issue and I'll contact tech support.

If I'm logged out, I cannot download the file (of course) so there's nothing to test, I think? The picture and text on this page were always correct, it was just serving up the wrong file when I tried to download it. Looks to me like a weird thing with my acct, I'll be deleting my comments shortly.

I notice fang dragon's don't have their lairs described like the other dragons do. was this an omission or by design?

I didn't give fang dragons a specific lair description because they seem to be more feral than other dragons.

This Bestiary sounds really interesting, but is there anywhere a more detailed list of the creatures included? I am especially interested in CR 15+ critters and would love to know whether this one is for me, before I spend the money.

Thanks!

Awesome work, I like it and bought it as soon I was made aware about it.
For me it's ok that it has no many pictures included as I own alsmost all FR monsters published in the past. Two Questions:
1. Do I need to check this area for any updates?
2. Are there any mechanics/abilities/special Actions not from DMG or MM? Maybe in such case an Appendix for such Abilities would be nice to have.

1. I will release an updated version within the next couple of days. It contains a couple of fixed typos and minor formatting issues. Nothing major.
2. All mechanics are either from the 5e core books or explained in the monster stats block.

I asked WotC whether they would add more illustrations from 3e Monsters of Faerûn to the DMG art packages, and I hope they will.

Well, I believe this product is quite a bit more expensive than it should have been. Here's my argument for that:

1) For comparison, 3.5e bestiaries in pdf format with page counts varying between 150-250 are $15-20 on RPGNow and the 5e MM in print with a page count of 352 is $32 on Amazon. Noting that these are indeed CANON products, a homebrew bestiary with a page count of 83 in pdf should cost less than $20. (edit: In fact, Necromancer Games' "Fifth Edition Foes" pdf with a page count of 260 is quoted at $20.)
2) This volume does not contain stats for my favorite FR monsters: Nishruu and Hakeashar. A huge, huge turn off for me at this price tag.

Conclusion: I believe this is a quality product which is quoted at a price tag twice as much than it is entitled to. I'd buy it without a second thought if it were for $10.

I updated the Bestiary. The layout got an overhaul, new monsters have been included (the Nishruu and Hakeashar among them) and I decided to lower the price as well. Should you decide to purchase the book, I'd be glad to get your feedback.

I added a preview, and I also intend to offer the PDF at a reduced price initially, but there seem to be some technical issues that don't allow me to edit the product in any way. I did contact OBS's technical support and hopefully things get sorted out quickly.

Apologies for that. Until then, here is an alternative preview: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mbm7xlkicqnbp6t/Bestiary%20of%20Faerun%20Preview.pdf?dl=0

If you have issues seeing/downloading the preview, please let me know.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
