A nameless horror stalks the lands around Triboar. Livestock are slaughtered in the night, children are snatched from their homes, and terror has gripped the hearts of the people. Can you unravel the town’s dark secret before more lives are lost?

This is a single session adventure for 2nd-3rd level characters. It includes 15 encounters in an urban sandbox, and a terrifying climax!

Includes a Guide to Triboar and a new and original Map of Triboar by Daniel F. Walthall!

The Fantasy Grounds version is here.

Got this in the bundle. Fun one-shot. I reworked the intro a bit to have more of a festival vibe with carnival games, which worked well.

If I could do it over again, I'd nix the mention Dorn's family. My party got obsessed with trying to rescue his wife and baby, and it didn't help when they failed their investigation to find them. Wound up having to do a lot of work to get them back on the path to finish in one session.

A fun adventure for low-level characters (or more like, people getting to know each other as a group!) with plenty to do. The climax and final fight are epic, hoping to DM it at my own table some time because I wanna RP some horses at the Happy Horse Ranch!

Thank you. I'm looking forward to running these. Is SKT the best resource for detailed descriptions of the Triboar and the surrounding area?

I logged on just to comment that I am EXTREMELY impressed at the consistency of this module in relation to the established NPCs and locations within Triboar from Storm Kings Thunder. It is something I do not often see in one shots, so thank you for going the extra step! Well done, as always!!

Is there supposed to be a map that goes with this adventure as mentioned in a previous post? I bought the bundle but no map of Triboar...

Hi Jason, I originally bundled an original map with this adventure. When Storm Kings Thunder was released, it included an "official" map of Triboar, which was quite different to mine. Hence I removed my map. You can see the map from STK here - http://www.enworld.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=76867&d=1474568469

I am planning to reproduce another map of Triboar based on the STK one, and bundle it back up in the next month or two. In the meantime, I'd direct you to the link above.

Small typo on pg3 "“We go to the markets and talk to some famers”-missing an "r" in farmers.
My two cents would be to add some DCs to more of the encounters-maybe Sharkey's Men could be Intimidated; or the party members roll a Dex check to see who tips the Apple Cart; Brown Bear could use some Animal Handling; etc...

Hi Michael,

What would need to change to make this "printer friendly"?

Thanks to the anonymous reviewer from yesterday. I think you made a couple of good points about projecting feelings onto the PCs. I'm planning an errata release this weekend, and I will have a look at the issues you raised as well. Cheers, M.T.

I really appreciate the map of Triboar and the description of the city, with all the points of interest. Is all of that your own work or was it based on some official content?

I'm currently running the Princes of Apocalypse adventure, which takes plane in the Dessarin Valley. If my players move to Triboar, I may use this adventure as a side quest.

Glad you like it, Leonardo! My sources were a mixture of "Volo's Guide to the North" by Ed Greenwood, the Forgotten Realms wiki and my own material. I had "Princes of the Apocalypse" in mind when I penned this adventure and it's predecessor.

If you have a spare moment, please give my adventure a rating. Thankyou!

"suggests the part go to the..." should be "suggests the party go to the..."?
"If they someone defeat it, ..." should be "If they somehow defeat it, ..."?

The "Setting a Watch" encounter says it requires a "Wisdom (Nature) check," but Intelligence is the ability score associated with Nature.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
