The Oath of Liberation is an incitement to rebellion. Often called freedom knights, holy liberators or revolutionary vanguards, these heroes dedicate themselves to overthrowing tyranny wherever it may be found. These champions of freedom liberate slaves, challenge oppressive governments and fight for the dispossessed, the poor and the downtrodden. Paladins who follow this oath vow to always follow their conscience, and often come into conflict with the demands of duty.

Tenets of Liberation

The oath of liberation is a silent commitment to the heart, rather than a written down code of honour. Its tenets vary wildly from each Paladin, but always involves a commitment to the gentler aspects of chaos. They all share the following themes.

Independence: Whenever the demands of duty clash with your conscience; break the law and follow your heart.

Freedom: Never force or intimidate another into acting against their will. Do not suffer the sight of slavery and imprisonment for too long.

Equality: Hold no lands, titles, or positions of authority. Never bend your knees nor swear fealty to another.

Solidarity: Always stand with the poor and the dispossessed. Challenge the rich, the powerful and the tyrannical.

I actually really love this! I was a bit worried about the price as discussed, but this is totally what I've been looking for for AGES and never been able to find.

Are you really asking 3$ for an OATH ? you can find dozens on the forums for free, not to mention here. Create some sort of compendium or price your item differently and then we can talk

Part of the reason I priced it like this is because of scarcity. Anyone looking for a decently designed CG Paladin Oath for 5e doesn't exactly have a lot of options.

If you can link me to a cheaper/free CG Oath that has had at least a little work put into it then I'll happily drop the price.

On another note: kudos to Wizards for turning me into a money-grubbing capitalist pig.

Oath of the crusader and oath of the pilgrimage are PWYW, most classes and compendiums of classes are PWYW or around 1$. I think scarcity doesn't justify such a price. Anyway not here to argue just to suggest, you're the one who decides and I love to see people post new thing here :)

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
