A fifth level adventure designed to played in a single four to six hour session.

*UPDATED - Includes beautiful large-scale map and all new artwork.*

There is the well-known regional legend of Iptiz, a spirit naga whose greed was remarkable even among its own kind. Murderous raids and relentless pillaging yielded a hoard so valuable that the creature needed some place to store and protect it. Thus was the Vault conceived: an underground complex custom built to destroy anyone who is not its creator. Years ago, Iptiz's campaign of terror suddenly ended without precursor or cause. The location of the Vault was never discovered.

Until now. The ring-city of Sulindal, built upon the shores of a mile-wide desert oasis, has come under martial law by an invading army of yuan-ti. They intend to exploit the resources in this renowned city of knowledge to locate the third and final Beacon of Selune.

...but for what purpose?

Our Roll20 group played this adventure tonight. My wife DMed it as a one shot because we thought one of our players wouldn't be able to make it. Our regular DM took the night off running the game and played instead. This was a super fun and involved dungeon, with a good storyline and interesting monsters. I definitely recommend it.

Hi William B, do you have a copy of the dungeon map without the DM info? I'd like to run it on roll20.

For those of you reading this comment at a later date: if the link doesn't work, it's because I have updated the product itself, and the .jpg is now part of the overall download.

Is there a suggested number of 5 level adventurers for this?

I ran this a few weeks ago, it was really fun. Well put together, good puzzles and traps. Four pc's at 5th level were a little overpowered for the encounters, unless I did something wrong as it was my first DM experience. Everyone had a lot of fun though. Thanks for all the work you put into this.

I loved the adventure, but have questions about the Blade of the Braggart.
1-Why isn't it an attuned weapon?
2- "While it is wielded, its user has advantage on all d20 rolls pertaining to Charisma". Was this intended to only apply to skill checks, or is this weapon the dream of casters who use Charisma to their attack rolls?

1) The blade itself does the bolstering. It dazzles. Little required from the user. But you do have to be wielding it.
2) yes, intended to be a boon to any Cha spellcaster. As long as you are wielding it.

Actually looking back at my notes, it used to be attuned. Lost it during revisions by accident, presumably. I'll get that fixed, thx.

What's the Aburian Blights campaign? The references in the document don't make sense without it

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
