Each year the Emperor holds a competition to select a new Adamantine Chef. When a challenger emerges from outside Kara-Tur, the current Adamantine Chef aims to win before the first dish is served. The challenger turns to heroes in this desperate hour!

This 3-4 hour adventure pairs action with humor. The menu includes high-flying martial arts action, wild animal hunts, shopping, haiku, and, of course, a food fight! Dish this out as fast food for a fun game night, or use the included tie-ins as extra flavor for an ongoing campaign. Delicious!

A 3rd-5th level Forgotten Realms culinary adventure, featuring:

    • Tie-ins to the Tyranny of Dragons, Elemental Evil, Rage of Demons, and Storm King's Thunder storyline adventures or your own home campaign
    • Two new monsters
    • Innovative encounters offering your players unique roleplay and combat experiences
    • Links to the adventure The Five Deadly Shadows, extending play
    • A food fight with special food-weapon rules!

This product has undergone a sensitivity review. I will be providing a revised version of this adventure based on that valuable review.

At the end of this adventure there is a promotion for the 5 Deadly Shadows Adventure from Dungeon Magazine #195, that being a 5e conversion guide for the adventure. Is there any word on if that's still going to be a thing?

Very fun. I changed out all of the Zhou stuff to less racially-charged stuff (dwarves, local culture, etc) and added in some cooking challenges for the crew.

I had a lot of fun running this one. I had a very small party, so the final challenge was a little tough, but good practice for me learning how to adjust the difficulty. I also enjoyed seeing how many more puns my players/characters could add to the ones that were already written into the module. I would definitely run it again!

Would this adventure be trivial for a group of level 10's?

Follow up, would this adventure be easily modified for level 10's?

Hi, the adventure's fun isn't the challenge of the fights. Run at the minimum level, it is a reasonably strong challenge. Each encounter has an "Adjusting the Challenge" section and you can use those suggestions to scale it upwards. But, you don't need to worry about this much. This is more like a Kung-Fu movie where you know the good guys win. The fun (and the laughs) are all about the experience, the choices, and unraveling the story as they complete the adventure. That said, you can use the adjustment information to make the combats difficult if that's what your group wants. I hope that helps!

As the author, I greatly appreciate the first review! I will look into an update that cleans up how the art is placed. Thanks for the great feedback! Also, if enough people feel strongly that the adventure would be better with more concrete recommendations (Skill DCs, etc.) at each step, that would be useful feedback.

I just want to make it absolutely clear that I love the choices you've made in this design. I think that the choice not to include a 4E style "skill challenge" was a good one. And you have offered solid guidelines for DMs to provide a resolution. I totally got my money's worth!

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
