I DM'd this last night and my players greatly enjoyed the story. That said, I had to do fair deal of DM handwaving to make things run fairly smoothly. The final areas are also VERY deadly for a group of level 1 adventuerers. The dwarf enemies are listed as CR 1/4, but they have the hit points of CR 1 or CR 2 creatures. Unless changes are made to them, I feel this adventure is more for players of level 2 or 3.

There were a number of spelling, grammatical, and syntax errors that made some portions difficult to read or follow.

The amount of gold offered in this adventure is very high for level 1s. At the reward offered, the town could hire wizards from a prominent guild to come in and take care of things. Suggest lowering the max reward to be 100-150g provided all areas are satisfied. "X for finding the cause, Y for removing the curse, and Z if pressured into a bit more money." Also, the trader sitting on 140g in her pocket seems excessive given that the story says she sold items...See more

A really great adventure with some flaws and typos.
On page 3 "the trader is a female dwarf" is noted twice. And it would be nice to know why the mayor would not mention these specifics. Is it because of the curse, or maybe because he's nervous or stressed?
The Duergar spy doesn't make that much sense. Wouldn't it be more plausible that one of the villagers were there to search for more red mithril?
Are the red dwarves undead (red dead dwarves)? Why does the curse lift specifically when the queen is killed? Is the spell or curse linked to her bloodline in some way?
All in all I think the adventure has a really great concept and a really creepy vibe. Great stuff! I'd love to run this for my group one day.

Ok, cool! I suspected that the Duergar was part of the bigger story arch.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
