Calendar of Harptos

  • The 12 month Calendar of Harptos laid out for easy campaign note-taking and time tracking.
  • Listings for every major holiday celebrated throughout Faerun.
  • Indexes to easily find religious events, seasonal holidays, patron deity days of worship, and more!

The Calendar of Harptos is the primary calendar used across Faerun. Use this to track events in your campaign, phases of the moon, and as a player hand out. Holidays are noted on their respective days, mid-month events such as Midsummer are noted at the end of the month that they follow, and additional regional festivals and holidays specific to various religions are noted as well.

UPDATED 2/21/2018! New layout!

We've updated the layout to look a lot prettier, and the calendar pages themselves have been revised to use a consistent layout based on the blank Calendar of Harptos month template from the book Old School Hacks Vol. 2: PLAYER ROLES! This is a beautiful, printer-friendly way to track the events of your campaign, and various festivals throughout Faerun.

The only thing I notice missing is the Talona Festival that occurs every 12 days.

That was actually purposefully left out, as I'm unable to find any naming convention or other information on it outside of here:

I'll look into adding it, but if you can find any additional information, that would be much appreciated!

I've uploaded what should stand as the final version (barring any major errata). Enjoy!

Does this document come with an editable format so you can take digital notes on individual days or is it just a flat pdf for printing and referencing?

Just a flat PDF, I'm afraid. I will look into setting it up to be editable, but I fear size constraints may make doing so a bit labor intensive.

Not sure if you're still looking for an editable format, but I'm working on uploading my working files for the Calendar in DOC, DOCX, and Open Office formats. Any other format requests?

Updated with all the following formats: PDF, DOCX, DOC (Word 97-2003), and ODT.

how can I get the editable ver?

Hi Stefano! I just added the editable versions back to this release. Apparently I didn't have them in there after I'd done a revision to the layout, so that's my bad!

Just head on over to your Library, search for Calendar of Harptos, and you should see the files available for download.

Keep in mind: all editable files (doc, docx, and odt versions) utilize the older, not-so-pretty version of the layout. This is because the revised, prettier version was done in different software to make it WAY better for printing out, but it loses its functionality in Word-type programs. So I apologize for the slightly uglier look, but there is otherwise no loss of data/information/holidays/etc between the revised layout and the original.

If you have any questions, comments, or criticisms, send 'em my way!

Apologies for the multiple updates today, but based on the reviews and comments both here and on G+, I've made some significant layout changes and added the appendices (the updated product description says it all). Thank you all for your feedback and continued support!

This is really neat, and I definitely intend to use it! I do think it would have been cool, though, to include maybe an index or glossary of the different festivals and religious observations and what they entail.

That's a really good idea. I'll add it to my to-do list!

It may take a little time, as I'll have to be careful not to copy/paste material and instead write more evocative, original text so I don't get in trouble. But I will get to it!

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
