Bane of the Tradeways

Times are hard in the Hillsfar countryside, especially for those of non-human ancestry. Unscrupulous merchants in league with the hated Red Plumes bleed local farmers and artisans dry. Perhaps some of those loot-laden caravans coming and going from Hillsfar could use a bit of liberation?

A four-hour adventure for 1st-4th level characters.

The chase in this module is one of the most fun I have run. I keep this module handy for conventions and short notice games I have to run since it is fairly straight forward and memorable. I also have to say that in the four times I ran this, the solution to the chase was different every time thanks to creative players.

4/5. Ran at my FLGS. This adventure is fun for everyone, but a few warnings: the chase is fun, but it is VERY easy to get bogged down in precise details. I ran almost all of it theater of the mind and tried to focus on the story over the exact mechanics. It's also quite difficult to motivate players to do anything if they don't already know what's going on in Hillsfar, and my players personally weren't too motivated by "a shipment" that racists were sending. I almost had to call the module there, as they basically were uninterested in following the rebels. Also, this module comfortably runs in about 2.5 hours, not 2.

I rather enjoyed running this, and the chase scene in particular added plenty of flavor. While there wasn't much RPing to be had, the RPing was still fun as ever. I'd certainly recomend it.

I really enjoyed DM this adventure. I like the aspect that the players had a choice to help the humans or the non humans. I give it 5 stars

4/5

A pretty fun module that proved to be interesting. Hillsfar is an uneasy place and for many who haven't been there at all it's a pretty fun way to introduce the place to the characters. It begins with having to pick a side followed by a chase and some interesting developments past that. The possibilities for this could be particularly fun especially if the party is evil.

Rating 5/5

A fun adventure with a chase scene to die for. If you are looking to break up some monotony in your adventure this is a great one. I would advise to not have the bad guys get too far away. The tension of following them and trying to take them down is a lot of fun. Great for AL or your own home adventure.

Another fun module from Rage of Demons. Although this module is a bit combat-heavy, there's plenty of space for role play if players and DMs run it creatively. The unique aspect of this module is the chase scene, which makes for some fun moments at the table. Otherwise, it's simple, straightforward, and easy to run. 4 out of 5 stars.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
