I'm struggling with the description of the web and the cavern: it says it's 30 feet across, yet also wider than a PC can see; there are only 2 caves yet there are a half-dozen caves; there are two strands (straight and diagonal) yet there is only one strand. I'm not sure if maybe I have an old/unedited version of this adventure, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

An enjoyable introduction to demons.
The boost for very strong party strength in H5 includes a Glabrezu, which will seriously up the difficulty of that encounter.
I recommend scaling the maps so that the huge things you will find don't have to squeeze and describing it as a structure designed to impress with its vastness.

Definitely fun putting the party in a situation where they are supposed to cooperate with a mind flayer.

4/5
My first tier 2 mod, and i loved the higher CR against my players.

I find it funny that all of a sudden we are working together with the red plumes.
The brawl in Elventree was weird and demands a good line up by the DM to not making it jarring.

I loved the fight at the end, even thou one of my players was oneshot by a BBEG Crit.

I played through this.

Ratings:
-- Target Level: 2nd level (paladin 5).
-- Story: 4/5.
-- Pacing: 5/5.
-- Combat Difficulty: 4/5.
-- Combat Design: 5/5. Although I would give the last one a 2/5

Introduction: Clear faction based hook. There was one part at the beginning that strained belief related to the descent order. The Redplumes are supposed to be super bigoted against nonhumans. Why would we all go down at once with them on the crank? The module doesn't address this.

Exploration: Some dungeon delving that ultimately turned out to not matter much (at least that section).

Pacing: Good pacing.

Combat: So combat is a bit skewed in this review because the DM was rolling terribly and we had some great on hand spells/features for dealing with demons. He had my paladin under Hold Person and despite attacking a paralyzed target, could not hit Like at all. If he was rolling more typically, the combats would have...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
