Jardenia's Conundrum

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Suggested Price $0.50

When the PCs roll into a quiet fishing village to get a rest they are surprised to find the town empty and desolate with the exception of a young girl named Jardenia. They then must help her uncover what happened to her town and figure out how to bring the townsfolk back safely.

This trippy mystery one shot includes puzzles, problem solving, and combat.

This is a one page adventure (double sided) design as part of my RP-Go project based on D&D 5e rules. These are all designed to be self contained with no monster manual or player's handbook needed. As this is an entire one shot contained on one page expect to stretch your improvisational mussels as the DM.

I though it was important for me to update you here, but I finally got my PCs to start this adventure. Instead of Saltpoint, which they left in distrust, I combined the story of this with the setting of Porthaven, a location I got on this site. It works a little too well honestly, even to the point that the local blacksmith is a tiefling named Ignea, who I set as Jardenia's mother. I haven't finished yet, but so far, this has easily been one of the most successful adventures picked up on the DM's guild that I've run. Like, seriously, one of my PCs took me aside after the adventure to ask if we could ease out of their wizard and instead take up Jardenia as their new character. We're still in talks, but it looks like it'll work out. I'll update you again after I'm done with the base adventure, but I thought I'd let you know that we finally got back around to it.

Gonna continue on here because I don’t want to edit my review, but I do find this absolutely hilarious. After a month long hiatus, we finally continued play, and then... they split the party. Of course they split the party. Fine, I figured, and I pulled out a module I had prepared for them as a backup. And then... they decided that the creepy empty town was a bad idea to mess with, decided that Jardenia was some phantom trying to entice them into the town, and basically avoided it like the plague. After all this time, I am FINALLY getting back to this story ark, having had to have pulled out my least favorite tool, time travel, and should finally be running this next week, as me and my players are busy auditioning for Unreal Cinema’s KOTOR project currently. I do find all the timing hilarious, especially the fact that despite the difference in time between the review and the reply, you still asked me how it went too early. Lol. I will update you after it finally had been done, unless they pull out Daeryn’s...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
