Based on the color spray spell, the Iridescent Angelfish is a Challenge 1/4 aquatic monster. Based on the detect evil and good spell, the Makara is a Challenge 6 guardian of temples and holy sites. Consistent with their descriptions in real-world mythology, the makara features a wide variety of forms and abilities, which DMs can choose or roll randomly to determine. The makara makes for an excellent mount for a powerful cleric or sentinel in an ancient temple!

Based on the divine favor spell, the Octopod Archon is a Challenge 4 aquatic celestial monster. These strange celestials serve as foot soldiers for aquatic deities, and fit well in aquatic campagins as summon options for clerics or as guards in submerged temples.
