You became an augmented, a powerful technological half-caster able to adapt your body to any situation, installing augments into your body that transform your potential. Adept at both spellcraft and martial skill, you fight for a purpose long since decided, for whatever reason made you determined to become more than you once were.

The Augmented character class option includes full progression between levels 1-20, 3 subclasses, and 34 augments to fully customize your augmented character.

Play as a biomechanical battlefield terror, rending apart your enemies with a chainsaw blade and optic lasers. Be a stalwart technological protector, conjuring barriers for your vulnerable companions to hide behind. Or become an infiltrator, taking on any face you choose and diving into the minds of your foes, hunting for secrets.

I feel as though there should be an in-between the print-safe versions and the normal version, that has art but is selectable. Having to choose between a version that I can select in order to copy-paste text from into Roll20 and a version that is pleasant to look at is kind of a bummer.

Second: When you get your second battle fist, are you then able to battle strike twice/turn with each fist?

Second: No, the intent for Battlestrike is that it's usable a maximum of once/turn, until you get Transcendent at 20th level.

I actually have a question about "Manipulate Barriers". It reads, "Starting at 14th level, you can use a bonus action to move a single deployed 5 foot square of barrier that
you can see a distance of up to your Intelligence modifier × 5 feet in a straight line. Each creature the
barrier collides with during this movement must succeed a Strength saving throw against your spell save
DC or take 3d6 force damage and be pushed along with the barrier to the end of its movement."

It doesn't say what happens if a creature succeeds on its save. I'm assuming half damage and it isn't pushed? Thanks.

This class seems interesting, I can't wait to see it in action! One point of clarification though, on the Fighting Style feat you don't have a level requirement even though it's located in between two level 2 feats. I assume this is an oversight and have been building my character as if it had a lvl 2 req, but it should probably be stated in the description. Also, at the end of the battlefist description, "bonus to it's rolls to hit" is doubled.

Also, there is an Improved Tension Cables augment with a req for Tension Cables, but the Tension Cables augment doesn't exist

I did a sweeping edit of the main file, and corrected each error in turn. The newest version should have those fixed.

As I read this, I find the very idea of the class fascinating, and I get a devilish grin on my face.

That said, if w were to draw from some popular culture, I feel there is one Prime Directive option noticeably missing (though for good reason, given it would work better as a Villainous class option) Directive: Assimilate. For those who want to be a kind of prototype borg, if you will. I imagine looking at necromancy-related classes/subclasses would be a good form of inspiration.

Still, on the whole I do like this class. I can play as agent Sharp from Invisible Inc!

I love that idea!

One of my favorite interpretations of the psion was the Thrallherd, the individual taking hold of the minds of multiple sentients. Having an Assimilate directive definitely has that same feel, and I'd love to make it as an option at some future date.

Great minds think alike. I began working on one vaguely, the idea being that it would be a necromancer of sorts who kills enemies and turns them into undead. The borg are cyborg zombies, after all.

A wide variety of stuff!

• Integrated weapons are now a core feature, rather than an augment
• Shield Matrix and Overdrive are now subclass features, rather than pieces of the core class
• A Prime Directive feature now comes at 6th instead of 7th
• Many of the augments have been re-worded

I may also have sprinkled small changes throughout. A major edit/revision like this is usually rife with tweaks here and there.

If you have any balance feedback, I'd love to hear. Most of the modifications in this version were made due to feedback from people who have played the class.

From what I've heard, the biggest balance faux pas's in the original were Overdrive and Shield Matrix. I retooled both of those abilities and split them up into separate subclasses, so there's no way a single character can have both.

Not sure if that helps your case any. If you do get a chance to play it, let me know how it goes!

Tweaked it a bit, streamlined the 1st level offerings into two abilities, and bumped Battlestrike up to 2nd level.

Your DM was right, 4 abilities at 1st level was way too much. Many of them were smaller in scale, so I combined them where I could.

No worries, I actually modified the file in the middle of our conversation, so that's probably what the discrepancy is!

Is the version you have v0.2, or v0.2.1? You can tell from the version number in the bottom-right of the last page.

If it's not v0.2.1, try re-downloading it.

Yeah I don't think DM's Guild has direct messaging. Even its "send a complimentary copy" function requires an e-mail.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
