Title.jpg

This calendar expands on the information provided in Mythic Odysseys of Theros.

The introduction gives details about the Athenian basis of the Meletian calendar; this affects the recording of the year and the importance of the moon.

The calendar itself is an interactive .pdf so you can record and plan your adventures in Theros. The titles for each month are linked to the contents page to make it easy for you to navigate. The calendar is packed with information and details. Each month has a quote based on actual ancient Greek texts but modified for Theros.

There are 27 annual festivals and events outlined, this includes the events described in the book, Mythic Odysseys of Theros. Others are taken from Greek mythology, the history of Theros and the solar cycle. For each of the festivals there are details of what celebrations and rituals take place, as well as superstitions and myths. This should provide enough ideas to help you run these festivals whilst allowing you the freedom to make them your own.

Figures from Ancient Greece are introduced to Theros, such as Kynisca the ancient Akroan princess who was the first woman to win the chariot race during the Iroan Games. There are also suggestions for NPCs based on Greek mythology, such as Asclepius the oracle of Pharika.

Hopefully this calendar can help bring Theros to life for you and provide ideas for new adventures. With that in mind, interactive notes pages are included at the end so you can begin writing down your new ideas immediately!

We hope you enjoy this calendar as much as we have enjoyed creating it. This has been our first major attempt at creating fun and new content for the D&D world of Theros.

Much more than a calendar! There is great information here about festivals, relationships with gods and other cultural enhancements. The author uses a mix between published Theros material and ancient Athenian/Greek material to make a stellar product [...]

This is a very well laid out calendar that gives a lot of really easy to reference material. The explanations of the celebrations are wonderfully written and very helpful when building up encounters in the cities. Something I come back to time and time [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
