Hey there! This is my first attempt at a real Homebrew and I wanted to put it up here to see if anyone liked it and could give me feedback. I hope you enjoy version 2.0 and I can't wait for feedback so I can make adjustments and continue to make the class more fun to play and ensure it's healthy for the game! Also, if there are any artists who see this I'd love to work with you on helping me get some art in here (Not looking for free work I support art just can't do it).

I REALLY need playtest data or feedback, so if anyone has had a chance to try it out, I check the site for discussion/reviews frequently.

As for the class itself, the Host is designed to be a situation where some of the most powerful entities known are sealed within mortals and how they get to use remnants of those powers. There are three archetypes for you to choose from that take the form of three different types of entities that can be sealed by the new spell "seal greater entity". They are Demon Lord, Arch Devil, and Phoenix. I hope you enjoy I put in a lot of work to finish it and it was a ton of fun to make, hope anyone who decides to use this enjoys it and I'd love to hear how your experiences go.

Disclaimer: This class is not meant to build edgelords. The writer of this class did not have edgelords in mind when writing it, and all edgelords claiming the class as an outlet for their dickery are not representative of the Host writer or his views.

Disclaimer 2: I made this before hexblade was a thing, and still feel like it gives a totally different feeling to a character.

Host Change Log - Current Edition, full change log in files

2.0

Main Changes- Arch Devil archetype complete rework. Removal of Arch Angel archetype. Addion of Phoenix archetype.

Main Info
- Hit Die - Raised hit die to 1d10. Taking out a lot of the defensive options left the class feeling too vulnerable. Raising the hit die brings it a little more in line with other martial classes without bringing back some of the defensive issues that were in the original version.
- Equipment - Cleaned everything up, removed spell focus as it's no longer needed.
- Proficencies - Removed martial weapon proficiency

Base Class Features
- Fighting Style - Added Defense Fighting style back in for only the phoenix archetype. This is probably temporary until I think of something more fitting.

Demon Lord
- Demonic Bloodlust - Took a little power out of the ability by forcing the host to consistently be on the charge to their bloodlusted enemy. Before it was easy to hit an enemy, possibly back off, and play it safe. The new effect to the feature forces that true feeling of bloodlust once you hit stage 3 and onwards. Added in the ability to not advance the stage to not force players to go into that bloodlust to simulate the host controlling themselves, but once they allow that battle thrill in there is no going back.
- Blood Chain - Slight nerf just to even some things out. Making it a bonus action gives the demon lord something to do with their bonus action, and adds in some meaningful choice.

Arch Devil
- Complete rework
- I wanted to try something that would bring a new mechanic to spellcasting, so the archetype is all about choosing the spells needed on the fly. Rather than preparing each day you can exchange entity points for spells at any point. I think this could go really well if I've fine tuned everything well enough so any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Arch Angel
- Removed

Phoenix
- New archetype, centered around that feeling of explosiveness. Remember when reading this that you only regain half of your total hit die on a long rest.
- Lots of math went into making sure this was balanced. Please let me know your in game experiences.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
