Extra Life

This is an alternate version of the original 5e Death domain for clerics.  It is intended for use with neutral deities who personify the natural aspects of death as it comes to all mortals rather than the scheming, evil corruptor type as presented in the DMG.

These deities, such as the Raven Queen, Kelemvor, Anubis, etc. tend to abhor the undead.  This alternate Death domain is meant to give players an option to play as a cleric who serves a god who stands to protect the sanctity of death, calling for the annihilation of the undead in all its forms.

really well written, i really enjoy the layout of everything and I enjoy the option to play a death domain cleric without siding with the undead.

Getting Necrotic Resistance at 1 level with the other features there is way too strong, you should take the precedence of the UA Forge Domain and put the damage resistance in the 6th level feature.

Thanks for the feedback, but I'm afraid I disagree with you entirely. You can get fire resistance at level 1 as a Tiefling, and that's even more common than necrotic. You also get no proficiencies in armor or weapons, and 1 of your 2 cantrips is extremely situational (Spare the Dying) and doesn't even allow casting it as a bonus action (like the Grave domain later did). Additionally, One Foot in the Grave is even more situational, as it only occurs when you're dying, and even then, only when you fail, so how often do you even get to use those features?

So about half of the abilities you get are situational at level 1, so having a decently common resistance (less common than fire or poison) is well within the realm of appropriate for the power level. Look at what else Forge cleric gets at level 1. That's why they postponed resistance to level 6. You have to look at the whole package in context, not just the individual features in a vacuum.

Very nice domain with strong atmosphere. One little detail, it should be clarified, whether the spare dying and chill touch count toward cantrips known (i.e. whether you know three of five cantrips at level one).

Great, feedback, thank you. Please leave a review if you would be so kind! :) To answer your question, it is intended you would know them in addition to the cantrips you select at level 1 for cleric. The note explaining that they count as cleric cantrips is to indicate that they both can be used by you as a cleric even though Chill Touch isn't actually on the cleric spell list. It is not intended to say that these take the place of cantrips you would learn by selecting the cleric class.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
