This is a feat book designed to make the art of grappling and unarmed fighting compare and compete well with other character options at the higher levels. It is a full revamp of the Grappling system for the 5th Edition. It is extremely accurate and gives great incentives for being an unarmed combatant, Monk, Pugalist, or even any other class! This feat book and system for integrating MMA into D&D 5E is the product of a full year of working and research into the ideas within.

  • Six Fully Made and Balanced Feats focused around Unarmed Combat
  • A fully integrated system for working and implementing real world Martial Arts into your D&D campaign
  • Full system for how training, quests, and conflicts based around Martial Arts and Dojos
  • New and Exciting combat techniques, unique DCs, unique system for limits and points to perform martial art techniques
  • Two real life martial arts implemented into 5th Edition D&D
  • A few Optiional and Variant Rules to use while implementing this system

This is only my Second work that I have published and hope you enjoy it! It has been heavily play tested for over a year by my own group and my PCs (Some of whom are actually practitioners of combat sports) love the material. But as always I love to hear feedback on what you guys think of my work and any updates that I could possibly make! This is officially only part 1 of my work. I plan to make a second guide that will feature more arts and more feats for this system, all for working towards making the Martial arts system in D&D less flat and more engaging and much more rewarding. Enjoy!

Also Check out my other work, The Assassin Background that is based off the John Wick Franchise!

*2/21/2019* Little Update. I have now added in new clarifications on certain moves and the difference of grappler vs grapplee. I also rebalanced the martial artist points to make the game and feats more balanced for your worlds. Lasty, I finally elaborated on the integration of this material with sneak attack. Enjoy!

Thank you so much! I personally am obsessed with Benjamin Huffman's Pugilist and have one of my party members who uses both <3 it's been amazing. (she does jujitsu and by using squared circle and this material, she was pretty much able to make herself!

also with the lingering injuries of the moves (something i love having there by the way) for example the crucifix and internal injury does that give some sort of status effect or is it narrative?

It's in the dmg as an optional rule. They do have effects.

Yes, that was a flavor option to heighten realism.

would you say the monks martial arts feature to use dex intsead of strength applies to the grapples? was thinking of making a character with this, but im worried about how MAD it is.

I would definitely say for realism purposes that yes the dex would be the one to apply for the grapples since monks would seem to have more finesse. But it is really up to your DM. I feel that is something to talk out with them.

I would like to say that I have read through this and like the looks of it. I do have a question though. It says that these moves may be used on a grappled target as an action. Is the intent that the player use these actions the round after the target is grappled or did I misread this and I can grapple and rear naked choke the target?

The original intent was for the character that is grappling has to establish the clinch (Grapple) first and then is able to do moves. There are some moves that are directly stated as being able to be performed outside of the grapple. Also I plan to update this work and address how moves work on targets that are surprised and and also possibly a list of moves that are able to be performed outside of the grapple but by rouges. (I.E. I plan to add the realism of a rouge being able to sneak up behind someone and slip in a rear naked choke without grappling)

Thank you. I thought that was it I just wanted to make sure. These are going to be used with my fighter who ends up without weapons a lot.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
