"I don't understand. What do you mean there's another plane we've missed?"
Davi sat thoughtfully for a moment. How best to explain this to an apprentice of Boccob? He smiled to himself, and lifted a heavy, moth eaten book from its home on the shelf.
"Here" he said, handing the book over to Aridyn.
"Everything you're asking for. It's in there. The timestream, it's caretakers.. everything."

Aridyn took the battered, old book from the elderly man and flicked through it.
"But sir, the pages are blank". His brow furrowed, confused. Davi grinned and took the tome back, placing it on the bookcase.
"Exactly. Do you know why?" The young apprentice shook his head. Davi leant towards him, parchments spilling from his arms as he did so.
"Because it's not something we're supposed to know. Everytime I write something down, it vanishes. Everytime I try, I find myself back where I started." He shoved the parchments into a pigeon hole beneath his desk and motioned for his apprentice to follow him out the door.
"You see, the timestream is delicate. It's fragile, and as such, any meddling by mortals such as ourselves can easily disrupt its flow." Aridyn jogged to keep up with the old man, his legs not as long as Davi's own. The wizard unlocked a heavy iron door, and climbed the stone steps beyond it, continuing. "However, the Timekeepers... they maintain this flow. Make sure it is kept pure and filtered. It is they who pick at my research. Prevent me from furthering my work. And to truly understand the nature of time, it is they we must study."
He stopped, standing in front of a brass door, clearly marked with wards and sigils. Placing a hand on its heavy frame, he slowly pushed it open.

"Come, Aridyn. I think it's time you saw one for yourself."

A note: Due to the way that warlock's Pact Magic casting works, the feature Chronomancy Dabbler can never be utilized at less than a 3rd level slot and therefore never applies less than two effects. Once the Warlock grows to 9th level, it will never be usable at less than a 5th level slot and therefore will never apply fewer than 3 effects. It might be worth considering allowing any spell slot to be used rather than only Warlock ones, which would at least permit a multiclass build to do lower-level expenditures of the feature later on. Otherwise, I would suggest a rebalance of the feature to account for this fact. Otherwise, I absolutely adore this patron -- both the flavor and the mechanics seem phenomenal!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
