Class-Based Magic Item Sampler

When I read through magic items and new DMsguild products that feature magic items, I'm usually looking with a specific character in mind. Here I have included samples from each of my current and upcoming products focused on magic items that enhance or accentuate specific class features that are central to each different class. Barbarians get war paint that enhances their rage class feature, rogues are rewarded with a cloak that enables them to hide easily in dim light, and wizards will find a tome that empowers their conjuration spells. There is something for every class here.

If you like what you see and want more items or ideas for how to reward your players in a way that enhances what makes their characters unique, then have a look at my other products!

Am I missing something, the Archdruid's Bearskin Cloak seems extremely weak. Five temporary hitpoints when you transform isn't worthy of legendary status, certainly not with attunement.
Forest shroud/shadow cloak is very weirdly phrased, what is counters the invisibility? Dream Harp is too powerful for an uncommon item, increasing spell save DC is even more powerful than increases AC, and not requiring attunement makes is probably Very Rare. Oathblade is pretty underpowered for a Very Rare item, a single first level spell slot doesn't change an uncommon item to a very rare one, and it requires attunement on top of that. Saints halo also seem very weak and situational. Tooth of Hadar also isn't in any way worth Legendary status, a Warlock of a level that can obtain a legendary item isnt going to use it's spells slot to cast arms of hadar, nor care for the max of 4d6 extra healing on a short rest enough to use up an attunement slot. What happens with the attack that triggered Void Essence, is it lost?

Firstly, thank you for your feedback!

A part of my design philosophy for these items, which you may not agree with, is the idea that many of these items are rare, not in a 'gp cost to craft' way, but in a 'how many might be found in a given world' way. There's probably only 1 archdruid in a given world, and so there's probably only 1 Archdruid's Bearskin Cloak to be found by an adventuring druid. I admit this doesn't coincide well with the game balance, but it was harder for me to justify while I was in the creation phase. I wanted items that felt cool, and calling something 'very rare' in game terms made it hard to come up with an item that felt more legendary from a story-telling standpoint. But I'm not above reviewing them and adjusting the rarity. It's just not my DMing style. If most DMs are going to distribute strictly based on a 'this player is x level, and therefore finds rare items only' guideline, then I can conform these items to that. Thank you for asking!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
