NOTE: this contribution is now obsolete, as a new, better version of it has been included in my Multiversatility – Player’s Options Pack.

The objective of this work is to provide 5th edition players with new, interesting familiars for their spellcaster characters. The following creatures are animals and strange beasts, ranging from the cute to the creepy.

I had special care in creating adequate familiars for every warlock patron released in the handbooks so far. Some of the provided creatures may work even with the common usage of the find familiar spell, but they were designed to be more powerful than the usual tiny little familiar. Finally, you can also use them as simple monsters: I'm quite sure that you'll find some of them more than adequate.

In the following pages you will find:

The eye stalker, for madness is in the eye of the beholder.

The gremlin, a fairy sapper with a taste for causing accidents

The guiding light, a radiant messenger from Heaven.

The hound, a trusted hunting companion.

The moon cat, a fey-related puss with a keen mind and sharp claws.

The unborn, a tiny undead horror so vile that words can't describe it.

And, last but not least:

The winged cat, a kitten with wings.

PS: special thanks to Conan The Barbarian, my faithful Italian hound, and Logan, the cat that is the best at what he does, and what he does is being nice. The two of you were the true inspiration behind this work.

PPS: if you have any suggestion, please write a review and comment. I'm more than eager to update my works to make them more suitable.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
