Features and Traits

Suggested Price $0.00

This is a list, with description and reference, of every feature/trait from creatures. Books I referenced from are the Players Handbook, the Monster Manual, the Dungeon Master's Guide, the Elemental Evil Players Companion, the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, the Hoard of the Dragon Queen, the Rise of Tiamat, the Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Curse of Strahd and Storm King's Thunder.

This list is useful for adding traits/features to monsters/NPCs/PCs or as a reference to look up what a trait/feature does.

Awesome resource, thank you !
Are there any plans to add traits and features from the new books ? (Eberron, Mordenkaiser's Tome of Foe, etc.)

This is a great resource. Thanks for putting it together. If you get excited for a reboot, at some point, there are 30 or 40 it's that should be its--but be careful, there are a few it's that should be it's! Cheers, and thanks again.

Nice work! I especially appreciate you referencing an example monster. And to echo some others, an update to include newer books would be excellent!

Just wondering if you plan to update this for additional books (such as Volo's guide and Mordenkainen's tome). I would be glad to work with you to include those if you were so inclined, otherwise, I will do so myself.

I use Opera now to download the files (instead of Chrome) and they open fine.

There are a couple of mistakes. 1st the Tarrasque doesn't have regeneration and second is that angels have the "Immortal Nature" ability which is in the first section of angels in the monster manual. Those are the mistakes that I saw.

Thanks for spotting that mistake and commenting, I've fixed the Regeneration reference to the correct Oni reference. As to the Immortal Nature of Angels, that is not an ability and is instead found in their lore entry before the stats pages. Adding in all the lore points for every creature would be counter productive I believe.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
