Jungles of Chult Factbook

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Suggested Price $5.00

The Tomb of Annihilation takes place in the uncharted peninsula of Chult. Little is known of this land but after scouring the ancient texts of 2e,3e and 4e some details of the dangers ahead have been uncovered.

This book is intended for DM's wanting to run adventures within Chult.  It is the result of quite a bit of research on official WotC supplements so should align pretty closely with other products released for the 5th edition setting.

Included within are:

  • Detailed history of the empires and struggles within the peninsula
  • Over 60 locations from earlier official publications marked on map with descriptions.
  • Traveling encounters customized for each region
  • 26 new monsters (converted from previous editions)
  • Dangers and details specific to surviving in jungle environments.

Check for the new supplement Chult Encounters for updated travel encounter generation and 23 new jungle creatures.

Where is the Temple of the Jade God from? Players may be going by that area, and I was wondering if there was a source with more info?

Hi Aaron, I dug through my notes to find where that came from and can't find the reference. Trying to track it down though, I think I may have messed up and taken it from a non-official source. The only site I can find that location referenced from is Damon DiDenti's fan made map and he may have added it himself.

One regret I have on these Factbook projects the the difficulty in tracking my sources. My apologies for messing this one up, I really did try to only take from WotC splatbooks. I'll remove the temple from the next version of this Chult factbook I release. Thanks for finding it.

Hi Mike, thanks for your effort and clarification. Yes, I wondered if it was from Damon's fan made map or maybe some map by Markus Taylor. I think I'll try to weave it into my game somehow – at least I know that there's no official lore to consider! Thanks for putting together this product by the way :) I've been using it throughout my ToA campaign. It's an excellent resource.

Found a small problem: Forest trolls. It says "they are smaller and smarter than other trolls." Normal trolls have an Intelligence of 7 (MM), but these have an Intelligence of 2. Is this an error? If not, then it should say "they are smaller and dumber than other trolls."

Thanks, you are right. The Forest Trolls intelligence is supposed to be 11. I'll update that in the next release.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
