“Psion Class Option” is a class instalment that seeks to explore psionics, from both a narrative and mechanical standpoint. Though the Mystic class option from Unearthed Arcana did this, the class was mechanically bloated and lacked a concise thematic identity. The Psi Warrior martial archetype, Soulknife roguish archetype, and Aberrant Mind sorcerous origin, from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, are popular character creation options involving psionics, but these subclasses have not explored its themes and mechanics to their full potential, including spellcasting that doesn't require components.
PSION.
Psions wield a taciturn magic, alien to mortal planes and minds alike. Mastering its use can break a mind, even more so than it already has been. The psychic variant you choose represents your relationship with psionics. Spellblades assert unquestionable control over their magic, training both body and mind to become the ultimate warriors, whereas mystics explore their powers as they open their mind to the universe. Aberrants, however, fight a losing battle, slowly descending into madness as their magic claims them.
