Infernal Machine Rebuild (5e)

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Suggested Price $9.99

A fallen clock tower holds components from an ancient artifact. Upon discovery of the components, competing agents look to launch expeditions to uncover additional components scattered across distant places—and times. The now-lost Temple of Moloch and the construction site of the legendary Tomb of Horrors are two of those locations. However great the risks, finding the components demands the effort, for whoever does so can reassemble the fabled Infernal Machine of Lum the Mad!

For characters 5th-10th level.

This adventure explores two dungeon locations and includes new monsters, magic items, plus new artifact powers submitted by the player community!

Further featuring new art, maps (from Claudio Pozas), cartoon (from Jason Thompson), even an Adventurers League cert for a new trinket—and all monies that Wizards of the Coast receives from sales of this PDF are donated to Extra Life.

Your purchase of this adventure goes to a truly great cause!

We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

Please put this and all other WotC extra life stuff available as PoD. While you're at it, extend the same treatment to Confrontation at Candlekeep.

Can anyone confirm if this will be PoD at a certain point, just like Lost Laboratory of Kwalish is? Would really prefer this in paper, as I'm looking to combine both LLoK and this with a shared adventure hook.

Since the two are related, I would love to see a PoD option for this + Lab of Kwalish (even though I already bought and printed the latter at work!)

This needs to be print on demand. I don't want to fork out $40 or $50, a estimate based on previous experience, to print this locally.

Cant say for sure because I don't work for either wotc or the guild but most of the extra life content has been so I would think it's a good possibility. I also hope they print on demand this because I think this would be a good scenario to run for the group I DM. I know most or all of last years extra life content is on beyond.

I'm building my Roll20 room for this adventure now and I've got to say it's a beastly module, well worth the price for all we're getting.

Here are some off the top of my head. Contact me on Twitter if you want to chat: https://twitter.com/CriticalFun

* Decide what length you want the adventure to be, they offer suggestions in the Adventure Primer. This will dictate how much prep you have to do.
* Read Appendix A to see what Random Encounters you're willing to run
* Read Appendix B to help you give the adventure the flavor you're looking for
* Now that you know how you want your overall adventure to go and you know what encounters you'll have it's time to go to Appendix C and grab/create all the monsters/NPCs you're going to use.
* It is easy to create art handouts with what we've purchased from DMsGuild and D&DBeyond, so use them. People like pretty pictures.
* Let your players doodle on the black and white maps
* Use as much of the silly stuff that the authors put in here as you can

I'm not perfect but his was my run through: https://youtu.be/FEvUSNyeqRo

Is it AL legal, since there is a trinket for it, or we need to wait for some sort of approval?

The adventure is currently *NOT* approved for Adventure League, but the Trinket Certificate appears to be.

I'm curious about how many pages are in this adventure, how many locations are included, if any, above the two stated and how many encounters, new monsters, etc. are included. This information should be included in every module offered for sale.

111 pages, looks like 5 major locations, a ton of encounters.

By my count 22 new monsters that aren't reprinted elsewhere, although monsters come from the MM, VGtM, and MToF, so having them in one location is nice.

3 new poisons, 3 new spells, 11 magic items (2 reprints, if I'm not mistaken).

And I disagree. It's not "should be included". It's nice when they do include it, but (for myself) I care more about the story and having only spent 10 minutes with this, it's a DOOZY.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant that those items should be included in the descriptions on DTRPG so I know more about the item I'm considering buying.

Thanks for all of the information on this one. It is appreciated.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
