Hello..! My name is Nick "Goldy" Drakopoulos. I've been Dming my friends for quite some time and my players got mixed up in a siege, like the players ussually do. After researching I found out that most Mass Combat rules are either too simple or too complicated. I wanted to find a middle ground.

I present to you "Rules of Engagement". This is a set of rules I created for that very reason. They are general enough so that they can be modified on the spot or a few hours prior to your session. Rules are not strict and serve as a guideline. They are mostly a combination of the Unearthed Arcana Rules for Mass Combat and a few strategy video games.

The goal was to create a set of rules that are both simple enough to use for the DM who will have to manage entire armies as well as interesting for the players so that they won't just roll dice all night for no reason.

If you have any questions, suggestions or even if you wanna say hi, come find me in twitter over here: https://twitter.com/Nick_Goldy?lang=el

I would like to thank Nick Drakopoulos and Chryssa Kougioumtzi for creating and sharing a clean, nicely formatted supplement on mass combat in D&D 5e. This is not intended to be a comprehensive review, and I’m sure there are many things that oth [...]

I was hopeful when I saw this because I'm working on mass-combat rules in my campaign, and have been somewhat disappointed with the WotC offerings, and other ideas I found online. As I read through these rules, I found that it suffers the same issues [...]

To be honest, I've only skimmed the rules. However, one thing is clear right off the bat, this is well put together and thoughfully done. I can't wait to include this in my upcoming D&D adventures. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
