__________________________________________________

Bards of the College of Punk Rock are musical rebels who use their music to defy authority and inspire change. They embrace individuality and encourage others to do the same. They perform with a raw and energetic passion, challenging the status quo and spreading their message of rebellion through their music.

Members of this College gain proficiency in skills that help them read the emotions of others and intimidate those who stand in their way. They are also skilled in wearing medium armor, allowing them to move and perform with ease. Their music can create minor magical effects, such as causing flames to flicker or doors to creak. Additionally, they have the ability to boost the confidence of themselves and those around them, granting them advantage on saving throws against fear and charm effects.

As they grow in skill and experience, punk rock bards learn to harness the primal energy of rebellion within their music. They can unleash a burst of sound that shatters obstacles and enemies alike. Their music can deal damage to their foes, and even deafen them temporarily. They can also use their music to uplift and carry others, allowing their allies to fly above obstacles and reach new heights. With their powerful performances and unyielding spirit, members of the College of Punk Rock inspire others to join the fight against oppression and conformity.

“Riven was a punk who used his music to tear down oppression. He lived in a society where the powerful controlled the lives of the weak, and his spirit rebelled against this injustice. Riven’s guitar and his voice became his weapons, inspiring others to join his cause and stand up against their oppressors. His music echoed through the streets, in underground clubs, and wherever he could find a crowd. Riven’s message of rebellion lived on long after his time, and his music continued to inspire generations to fight for their freedom and stand up against the oppression that threatened their lives.”

– Xander Xendarro, chronicler

As a member of the College of Punk Rock, you embrace your individuality and use your music to rebel against authority. With your raw and energetic passion, you challenge the status quo and inspire change through your music. As you grow in skill and experience, you learn to harness the primal energy of rebellion within your music, using it to break down barriers and uplift those around you.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Punk Rock at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation and Sense Motive skills, and with medium armor.

Fight the System

Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast the Thaumaturgy cantrip. Additionally, when you or a creature within 30 feet of you makes a saving throw against a fear or charm effect, you can use your reaction to grant that creature advantage on the roll.

Power Chord

At 6th level, your music resonates with the primal energy of rebellion, which enables you to unleash a burst of sound that shatters obstacles and enemies alike. Whenever you deal damage with a spell or weapon attack, you can choose to add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll. Additionally, you can use your action to create a sonic blast that deals thunder damage to creatures and objects within a 15-foot cone. The damage equals your bard level plus your Charisma modifier, and affected creatures must make a Constitution saving throw or be deafened until the end of your next turn. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Crowd Surfing

At 14th level, your music has the power to uplift and carry others, both metaphorically and literally. Whenever you cast a spell that targets one or more allies, you can choose to have the spell affect one additional ally within 30 feet of you for each spell level above 1st. Additionally, you can use your action to become weightless and hover above the ground, allowing you to move at your flying speed and pass over obstacles and creatures as if they were difficult terrain. This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Charisma modifier, and ends if you are hit by an attack or if you end your turn in mid-air. When you use your action to to lift a willing creature no more than one size category larger than yourself within 30 feet of you.

Once you or an ally are lifted in this way, you can’t do so again until completing a short or long rest.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
