The exact whereabouts of Bloodwater remains somewhat of a mystery; a deep, dark secret kept by those who wish to keep it hidden. Rumor has it, there is a mystical portal that leads to this “scoundrel’s haven”. Others say that the island is actually shrouded in magic which conceals its location. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Bloodwater would surely want to keep it a secret.

Welcome to Bloodwater; a hidden island port city inhabited by criminals, vigilantes, loners, scoundrels, outcasts, gamblers, sea-slayers, smugglers, thieves, and pirates. This veritable treasure trove is riddled with dangers, surrounded by treacherous landscapes and seas teeming with vicious monstrosities. Despite its perils, Bloodwater is a paradise overflowing with opportunity, where fortune favors those brave enough to tempt fate. A melting pot of cultures and lifeforms, the city is bustling with activity at all hours.

In Bloodwater the sea is stained red, an echo of a murderous past. Savage, twisted abominations rise from the darkened depths of The Eternal Void, an abysmal underwater cavern, to work the will of a greedy and bloodthirsty overlord. Here, murder is rampant and chaos reigns supreme. This is the realm of Kharkass, an insidious abomination whose heinous acts have doomed himself and countless generations to endless suffering.

A note from the creator: “This setting was heavily inspired by Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Curse of Strahd, Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, Night of the Shark, The Sea Devils, The Threat from the Sea Trilogy, Dark Tides of Bilgewater, Pirate Campaign Compendium from Legendary Games, Pirates of the Caribbean and the list goes on. I was going for Jaws vs Cthulhu meets Ghosts of Saltmarsh vs Curse of Strahd or something like that… I have a deep love for countless shark movies, such as Jaws and Deep Blue Sea, books like The Meg Series by Steve Alten, horror films, fantasy media, comic books, science fiction, board games, card games, music, artwork, and the list goes on. I have been a fan of Dungeons and Dragons for a very large portion of my life, mostly because it provides a unique and exciting outlet for creative and imaginative minds and adventure seekers all over the world. It has long been a dream of mine to construct my very own Dungeons and Dragons setting and adventure and I’m very proud to present this story to anyone and everyone out there who may enjoy it. I put a lot of myself and my own experiences into this Sharkenstein of a DND adventure. I took a bunch of my favorite things, threw in some of my own inner conflicts and emotions, mixed them with my favorite Dungeons and Dragons settings and adventures, and put them all into a blender. The result is what you see here in these pages. Thanks for daring to explore some of these dark depths and eccentric corners of my mind. Have fun and good luck!”

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
