Wild Mage Revised

Bring a new element of chaos to your wild mage with the Wild Mage Revised. Not only does it bring a new set of class abilities to the wild mage, it also brings a element of a deck builder to its spellbook and with it a entirely revamped Wild Magic chart to support it. The Revised Wild Mage is as chaotic and self destructive as it can be powerful. Do you have the constraint to survive the chaos?

You are a wellspring of the weave, perceived by others as blessed or even cursed by the goddess of magic Mystra herself. You are a mere cofferdam holding back the ocean of magic that surrounds you, that ocean is the Weave. Should you choose to dawn the mantle the  burden will be yours to bare. You must learn to hold back the chaotic tides of raw magic, keeping them from spilling uncontrolled into this world by managing a surge pool, random spell draws, and rolls on the Wild Magic chart.

You will require spell cards to play the wild mage revised.

The Wild Mage Revised is now on v3, with it I have introduced a new and unique Wild Magic Chart that really kicks up the level of risk and reward adding more bite to the chart. I have also included a more printer friendly PDF. I have commissioned some unique art that will be introduced to the PDF as well hopefully soon, I am really happy with what the artist is working on. Because of that I have changed from pay what you want to a .50 cost.  If you have questions or suggestion after trying the class please feel free to reach out or discuss in the discussion area. I love getting feedback.

I'm confused, it keeps talking about spell cards; what are spell cards?

You will need the physical spell cards, you can buy them at most local LGS.

03/23/18 Just updated to V2 of Wild Mage Revised. Added new class features and modified some old ones. Planning on updating and adding a new Wild Magic Chart with all the originals plus some extras to make thing a little more risky. Going to be utilizing the exhaustion system to add a little more danger. Also want to give the dm some options to be creative and have fun with tbyour class also.

Happy Gaming Everyone!

I am glad you took a look at the project and really appreciate the feedback. As for the base chart, there are a lot of potentially positive effects but a lot of them are AoE or random creatures including enemies. I am planning on coming up with new effects to expand the chart. I am always open to feedback and would love to hear some potential wild magic events or other tweaks the community would like to see. So please feel free to post your ideas in the discussion. I am really excited to see this class evolve into something really unique and playable at most tables.

I read through it and as someone who's been playing a standard wild magic sorcerer for a while I think it's a great and interesting idea, but I think you miss the point of the wild magic table. Rolling on the table will, more often than not, result in something good happening (if you haven't read this guide on how to play a wild magic sorcerer it's really good, particularly the analysis on the wild magic table http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?468899), so the wild magic sorcerer wants to roll on the table, but you made it sound as though rolling on the magic surge table is a bad thing that should be avoided. I really like the idea of having random spells that the sorcerer can call upon though and with some tweaking this seems like it could be really fun to play!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
