Through the Veil: Treasures of the Feywild

Journey through the veil and discover the treasure that awaits you in the Feywild. Do you dare wield such wild magic?

Treasures of the Feywild is the second volume in the Through the Veil series designed for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (D&D5e). These pages hold a treasure trove of wildly original fey-themed items, artifacts, weapons, armor, potions, instruments, whimsical trinkets, and adventuring gear to delight, bewitch, and terrify your players!

A map that leads to your greatest desire...

Seven faerie dragons, trapped in stone by a spiteful fey prince...

A cloak infused with the very essence of the seasons...

A legendary blade that can control, even part, the sea...

Extensive lore to plant seeds of adventures beyond any hero’s wildest imagination.

Snag a seat at the Symphony of Seasons. Traverse the wind on a passing dandelion pod. Get lost in Alabast Pergolast's magnificent snow globe and an alpine village from which you might never escape. Sample fairy oddities like enchanted smelling salts, fairy ring soup, pixie dust, and more! Enjoy a cup of crinklecusp bud tea - with permission from the local dryads, of course!

Treasures of the Feywild features 170+ pages of items steeped in lore highlighting the mystery and magic of the fey realm: a legendary seed which can restore the dead to life; a mantle that manifests a liminal version of its wearer; a locket that transforms mortal injuries into butterflies. Adventurers beware such nefarious creations as the headband of nightmares, bone needles of Dread Polly Mudmouth, apples of dark slumber, and more.

Create compelling fey-themed adventures and campaigns around such legendary items as the Primal Vestments, Armaments of the Great Horned Owl, the masks of the Starlight Masquerade, the Stinging Garments of Whelve-La, and the Horn & Shield of Eponatha - the first unicorn, who sprang from the dream of a young girl known only as the Dreamcaller. And only a chosen champion may hold the Spirit of the Feywild itself in their hand.

Your purchase will include a PDF copy with over 170 full color pages featuring over 400 unique, Fey magic items, weapons, adventuring gear, and trinkets. You will also get a high contrast version that is screen reader friendly!

I'm curious about something to do with this book and the Tales of the Feywild. TotF is available in print in hardcover form, though this one is only softcover. I'd personally like to be able to get them both the same, and was wondering if there are plans for either a hardcover of this book, or softcover for the other to be available?

POD became available after book production and this book release. We hit limitations for the print version post production and soft cover was our only option for print. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I can't read the PDF - It takes forever to load and I can't even scroll up and down the page - IDK what that problem is, I've checked with a bunch of other PDF files and they've worked fine but this one doesn't even scroll up and down, it just freezes and then jerks half a page up.

Good afternoon, we have also reached out to the DM's Guild staff about your experience and to start the trouble shooting process. (We sent the PDF to our 80 creative team members before publishing and did not have any issues reported with the PDF during our review of the draft.) I was reaching out to see what software or app you are using to open the PDF? Layout is also still working on a lighter weight PDF in the mean time. Thank you for your time.

Hi Adam! I'm a techie guy and one of the writers. I've experienced a similar problem with Google Chrome and opening 30+ MB PDFs. (I haven't tested Chrome with this product. It happened often enough that I configured Chrome to automatically download PDFs instead of displaying them.) If you have the free Adobe Acrobat installed (or another PDF reader), would you be willing to try that instead of Chrome? You can configure Chrome to download by following the instructions here... https://www.technipages.com/google-chrome-open-pdf-in-adobe-reader

Good morning, I agree with our writer Kerry, having an app such as Adobe will give you a better PDF viewing experience. Our PDFs are large TTRPG books and web browsers are not built to handle large PDFs. I personally use the free Adobe Reader software, that Kerry mentioned, and have discovered "read mode" has the best results for any large PDF. In Adobe, click View and then Read Mode to access this feature. Feel free to reach out to any of us if you need further assistance. We are happy to help trouble shoot!

Good evening, our layout team has created a lighter weight PDF and I have uploaded it to our product page. Everyone who has purchased this title should receive a notification and will have access to the updated PDF. For best results viewing this large PDF, download the PDF and use a PDF reader such as the free Adobe Reader, and use Read Mode feature while viewing. PDF reader software and apps are better at handling large book PDF files compared to using the browser which is built for small documents. If you continue to have issues viewing the PDF, contact the DM's Guild customer service team for a refund. Here is a link to contact the DM's Guild customer service team: https://support.dmsguild.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

We would like to again apologize that you had issues viewing the PDF.

There does appear to be something about the PDF copy thats a bit strange. I can open and page though it, but it takes time to catch up, so i'm seeing a blank page often. The greyscale copy does much the same.

I am using Mac OS X Preview for PDF viewing, but this app handles other PDFs that are nearly 20 times the size of your documents. I also use it with a lot of PDFs, and this performance stands out as being unusual. I do not doubt that it may perform better in Acrobat, but PDF is an open standard, and it should be easily read in any decent PDF app.

Mind, I am not presenting this issue as a problem report (as it does open and it can be read), and I can't tell you what needs to be done to make it better, as I don't create PDFs. The content of your book is extremely good, and I don't want your current or future work hobbled on odd technicalities.

Thank you for your work.

Thank you for reaching out. We are happy to help troubleshoot! I looked at some forums regarding Preview and it looks like other folks are having delay when they use larger PDFs in Preview and are getting blank pages where images are located in a PDF. The forums suggest Adobe Reader or Acrobat for larger PDFs. I read that Preview can handle viewing a wide range of document type, but seems to struggle with large files. You might try one of the Adobe readers. There might be some free Linux based PDF readers software out there as well that are also MAC friendly. I am happy to test a few out on my own workstation if that is helpful. Feel free to reach out if other PDF readers are not working for you. We are happy to help!

Great question! The DM's Guild is currently not taking hard cover requests for products at the moment. If sales go well, maybe we will get lucky and the DM's Guild will reach out to us regarding a hard cover option. Fingers crossed! Also thank you for supporting the series!

Sending an update! The DM's Guild changed their POD policy after our release and my initial response, so we were able to submit for print. Our POD files have been sent to the printers for media review, so we should have a print option coming soon!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
