A Homebrew Class
This article is a homebrew creation of a new playable class and several archetypes that can be added to and used with any new or pre-existing 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons role-playing games.  I have created this brand new class from the ground up to be used in conjunction with a 5th Edition campaign of my own design (WIP) that is based within the boundaries of Norse Mythology.

The Norden

A howling wind echoes through the frost ridden mountaintops. The ancient birch trees creak and groan as they bend to its will. It whistles through the cracks in the stone mountains of this harsh land. The frozen glaciers of the Nordlands are not an inviting place for regular man. But deep in this mountain ranges facing each day as a battle to be won live the clans of the Norden.

The Norden are a Norse mythology themed fighting class that is extremely resilient and can deliver devastating attacks in combat from both melee and range. They can also supplement their abilities with Runic Enchantments and the features granted to them as linaege descendents of the Norse gods.

I hope you enjoy the class and please feel free to leave feedback and comments so that i may refine this class. :)

You label many spells "rituals", but it is implied that you still can cast the spells normally. You do know that a spell that is cast as a ritual takes a minimum of 1 minute, right?

Thank you for clarifying that for me. I have removed the indication of rituals, they are now regular spells. :)

I would also advise that you revise what spells are allowed to be cast without using spell slots. Being able to cast cure wounds at-will is an absolute game breaker. A party could be close to death after a fight with a villain's lackeys, but once they venture further and face him it will be as if they had never been touched at all. Barring the need to replenish the uses of abilities, a party never needs a short rest ever again.

I also realised that I had not balanced the spell casting well. Thank you again, I have no slightly revised the spell casting so that they are limited to how many spells can be cast based on their runic power.

Some remaining suggestions:

1. Blessings of the Norns is kinda wonky. There is no motiviation to make use of Verdandi's blessing, since you can only use one blessing every three days, most would just use Skuld or Urd. Also, three days is an extremely long wait time for such a relatively weak power. I would suggest that you be able to use each norn's blessing once, replenishable on a long rest.

2. Summoning 5 Valkyries with stats like that could easily break a game, even if one considers the ten day wait time. Either a different capstone could be envisioned, or a single, more powerful Valkyrie could be summoned once every ten days.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
