Some wonderful items here, thanks for putting it together.
What does the Angel Down Bedroll's "+1 comfort at night" mean?
Typo on p.25: Restoration Potion 500 has "two diseases, on [sic] poison" which should probably be "one poison".
Also, a print friendly version without the page borders would be nice.

As for the Angel Down Bedroll, the +1 comfort is for a house-rule of how much comfort players must have when camping in order to regain hit points and hit dice, with extra comfort meaning they can get a few temporary hit dice or hit points for the next day because they got such a good rest.

That's a good catch on the Restoration potion! As for the print friendly version, is that something you would want to be in black and white as well?

Thanks for the work you put into it! It looks great. The illustrations do much to convey the feel of the items and inspired me to make a few of my own.

As a knew DM though, I'm scared of overpowering my PC's to the point of unstoppability so I've been very wary when handing out magic items or having them for sale.

How should I go about calculating the strength of these items? Currently I'm mainly going by gold cost (so for example a party of level 1's won't be getting a sword worth 2000 g anytime soon.)

PS: I'm sure the party rogue will love the living caltrops in this.

Glad you enjoyed the read! As for balance, it can certainly be a tricky thing, but what I aim for wealth-wise for my players is for them to gain the equivalent of half of their XP in GP (you can see my chart derived from 5e's XP values in my house-rules document herehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1i0kdcwMUfWDdbmuG3L0AWpSZRgqA_6SPv7Gym0CWzjF_uUvEvpdpwBHsGQ6Lz0mPMJA9AsiN5aXTYLsr/view?usp=sharing ). If you've played 3.5e, the rule of thumb is that players shouldn't generally have items worth more than half their total wealth accumulated, and I aim to dispense the party's total To Next Level GP across five treasure hoards of 0-2 (d4-2) items per player, miminum 1 item.

I aim for a certain level of difficulty in monsters, traps, or NPC encounters and modify them up or down slightly on the fly if I misjudge things, but not if the players come up with a novel or stupid strategy so they are rewarded or penalized for cleverness, luck, and bad ideas. If your players are rolling through everything you throw...See more

That's just what I was looking for, thank you so much for going through the effort of such an in depth answer.

I'll definitely look into some alternate win conditions for battles so they don't get too stale for my little band of murder-hobos, and rewarding them appropriately with some of your items. Thanks again!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
