I ran this as a duet for a friend who wanted to try D&D, but we both agreed that it was a little too linear for our tastes, even with some intervention on my part to change things a bit. I could definitely see enjoying this as a solo adventure, though, and I thought some of the ideas were fun! Would probably be good for a first time group with a first time DM.

I don't know what it is, but this adventure speaks to me. It's much more than a simple fantasy romp, like so many solo adventures are. It has heart. I love the layout--it's incredibly easy and intuitive to navigate through the story. Simply remarkable.

I've even run this as a one-shot module for friends, and it works very well in that sense too! With just a bit of tweaking for balance for a larger party. It's actually my favorite, go-to one-shot module, and it's not even designed for that. Thanks for a beautiful product!

For the price tag, this is a great adventure. The plot and characters are fine, if a bit one dimensional and there are some balance issues, but overall it's an easy recomendation.

Ran this on stream with a friend playing all the NPCs and managing combat and me narrating and running my character and it was so much fun! I was totally surprised by the twist partway through. It was a fantastic introduction to running solo-style adventures.

An excellent adventure to spend an evening playing. Even if my character couldn't hit [redacted] to save his life.

I just finished running this for me and a couple friends i loved that it had multiple endings. i think my favorite line was at the end of one of the endings about daughters and dragons. Can't wait to try another of your storys!

The plot was really good and it reminded me of the whole choose your own adventure books i loved to read as a kid My friends also enjoyed it too :3

Many of the rolls you do are insignificant in the story, which already isnt solid and has a bunch of loopholes. The 2 combat encounters I found pretty dull and uninspiring. The "plot twist" was very predictable and seemed like everything was forced to fit into the "girl power" story.

Also, for the author, there's a spelling mistake in page 9, it should say "continue observing".

I really wanted to like this adventure, as there's clearly been a lot of thought and effort put into it, but it ended up running more like a DM soliloquy than an adventure. None of the choices my PCs wanted to make were available, they were railroaded into a truly pointless combat that nearly killed them all, when they triumphed it had no effect on the plot, and they received no reward or recognition for their success.

Thank you for this adventure! :) It is very well written. It is perfect for solo players who would much prefer having the ambiance and the unfolding of the story be taken care of by the document. It is not a loosely connected series of prompts for D&D play (that style remains my preference, but i had a lot of fun all the same), it is, rather, a short story you get to immerse yourself in. At the end of the document, an author's note from Ashley Warren states "I hesitate to call this a 'solo adventure'; in my mind, it’s more of an interactive story." It is exactly what it is :) . I loved the twists, and the adventure is well structured.

Beautifully written and rendered adventure. I personally, as with every solo adventure, died with my character; from here on in I am running solely Goliath or Dwarven fighters or barbarians. :) But this was well worth playing. I could see a twist coming, but not this one. Recommendable.

I was searching for interesting things on dm guild and found that solo adventure. Lately my group had hard times with findig time to play together so i decided to check it out as the first proper solo adventre i ever played. I share my opinion in two parts. 1st part being technical and the 2nd being how the game went with spoilers.. soo..

1st spoilerless part: I thound the playist for the adventure, printed it out, ignited my candle and started playing in darkened room with my character sheet and dice box by my side.. that made quite nice climete. The story itself lasted for me for like 2 hours with checking out other oustcomes after finishing it just from being curious. There are quite a few choices and oportunities for getting more information from rolling tests. I fell like i could like it better if there was much more of them, but also it might be just my wish that cant be met with such stories. The stats are nice, tho i fell like the main enemy was quite low on hp. The biggest problem for me as i suspected it might be, was having to play both me and my allies and the enemies, but i think i prefer that than outcomes of the fight determined only by 1 stat of your and things like that that i seen in few other places. Overall "The Executioners Daugter" was a nice thing to play after work before ventureing to sleep. I would likely reccomend people to chcech this out, and will send it out to friends and try to convince them to check it out for themselfes too.

2nd spoiler part: Soo... I begun with creating character. Had no problem with that as i decided to go with my main, the dragon loving wizard Edward Dragonson. So you can imagine the look on my face as i saw the first mentions of dragons and Bahamut.. Anyway, i started the story.. 1st history roll, easyly passed, getting the knowledge i assumed my character might get to Soldra just to find out more of whats going on with making sacryfices for bahamut for protection against the dragon. 2nd check for perception.. nat 1 of corse im blind as always, especially that i have -1 modyfier.. But there after a while came the firs choice. If i go with the woman, ask for the price or stay silent. So i decided that my character wouldnt just proclaim in front of so many citizens, so i stayed silent.. But after reading that after it i would just stay in the city and get drunk.. it is not what i do, so i bend a story a little that i just departed from the city to join her soon after without showing myself to much. Of corse i knew draconic so i knew some more flavor information. There goest the 1st fight. Me, Domenica and 4 eagles.. I cast sleep, 2 down, then neither i nor Domenica can hit them in like 3 turns, i rolled the dice to determine who is attacked by the eagles, and those 2 almost killed her xd, but i finished one with magic missle and she finnaly sliced the 2nd one. Next perception check, no different then the 1st one xd And then she turns into a dragon.. i suspected it might be the case, as it was told that they dont come back and that Bahamut wouldnt sacryficed them. But anyway i was stunned of corse by seing a woman transforming into the dragon. Ah i also seen before that she silently casted silence on her father couse of staying silent and sucesfull arcana roll. So by default she erased 3hp that she gave me before and i decided to run as im not kin to fighting dragons (not couse being a made as i tanked young adult back dragon in our campaign as a wizard xd but on little higher level) And while runing away i got hit with claws for full damage xd and had like 3 left. then i roll for running and.. 1.. of course, i lay on my face. And as it was quite late i didnt notice that griffon is optional ally and joins only if you make him join, so i assumed he wants to fight intruder and he hit him once and was destroyed by the dragon xd But gave me a chance to hide in trees. (So bassicly i assume that i should die there and get the ending with resurectuion from my lord and savior allmighty Bahamut.) But as i realized that after finishing the play i went further with returning to the city after the trail of the obsidian dragon. I met her fighting with the Guard and the Priest. I think that she is to weak on healf for fight with 3 people, even withat that minor harm from eagle. I rolled initiative aaand.. im last.. so they fight, guard got max dmg with his spear and i think what my character would do? And as im peacefull (at least sometimes) and see the dragon harmed quite much i decided to.. cast sleep. And there i had a riddle of what should i do as i just made her sleep.. So after a while i just starting to read the ending and assumed that Bahamut decided it as our victory and didnt nececerly wanted us to kill her, but show him that we also are able to fight by ourselfes as he amires not only good and peace but also strenght to maintain those two valors. So after finishing it i also checked out other options to see what could have happened. And i must say i basicly like all the endings, and that neither of them sems like a failer. I dont quite care about the sword as being a mage, but i think its quite decent magic item, especially if one would use this story for a backstory of their character in a campaign. Talking about fighting dragon.. i think i might manage to beat her solo with my mage on the moutain, if i would decide to fight and insted of running casted mirror image, would need some luck, but 28 health for magick missiles would be just a thing of surviving that few turns so maybe will try that fight out of curiosity later. So at last i think my character wouldnt need any rewars from that and would decide that even if handed out the sword by Domenita the Champion of Bahamut i think it would suite her better. And having such ally and a friend maybe? Would be worth for me much more. Especially that i had a chance to see an obsidian dragon!

So after all thank you for creating that jorney i could embark on my own. The plot was interesting and the characters were also quite amazing. Especially Domenica, but i also liked her father, conflicted by his emotions and how he wasnt sure of the rigghtousness of the sacryfices. Now i want to adventure even more. Find more dragons, get more allyes and cast some more spells..

The Executioner's Daughter is a beautiful document. Part solo adventure, part interactive story, it allows you to make your way through a specific moment in the history of Soldra. Every year, the city sacrifices a woman chosen at random to the dragon god Bahamut, a tragic yet grimly accepted event. This year, the Executioner's daughter Domenica chooses to go, and you are called to accompany her in the harrowing journey. However, it is unlikely that this sacrifice will go to plan.

The Executioner's Daughter is really something quite unique. As the author states in a couple of places, it's not necessarily a solo adventure. Yes, one person plays by themselves, but a lot of this document is story. You read the story, and at key places you can roll for actions or information, putting your own unique stamp on it. But unlike a solo adventure, The Executioner's Daughter isn't really about you, the adventurer. Rather, you are a part of Domenica's story.

Overall, this is a beautiful document. The writing is deft and stirring, and the layout and editing are quite good. The story is interesting and engaging, and you get a strong sense of the world of Soldra. It's one real flaw might be that you can't necessarily play/read it over and over again. Your actions are fairly constrained, and a lot of the impact of the story is lost with repeated readings. I can see it being something you enjoy picking up once a year, more as something to read than to play, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Basically, this is a great little piece to pick up and play. It's beautiful and engaging and not too terribly expensive. Definitely recommend.

A beautiful and heartfelt story of sacrifice, foolishness, and strong women - I'll admit I was sobbing at the end. An amazing game, and one I recommend to anyone looking to start Dungeons and Dragons - but have some tissues ready :)

I look forward to seeing more strong women in Ashley's future adventures!

This was a well written adventure. I liked how options were presented. I especially liked the plot twist. It would have been better had it been longer; maybe a couple more encounters.

I look forward to parts two and three (what are the titles?).

Thank you for your efforts!
