This is a great hook to get your players out of Chapter 3 and back on track! It plays like a Scooby Doo mystery; there is a young man in need, which leads to following clues to his abductor. A nighttime jaunt on a the Grand Dame Riverboat Casino eventually leads to the villains lair, and finally a showdown in the underwater grotto with an ancient evil.

The best part is how many things you can combine from the book with this adventure, and it all flows seamlessly. Here are the storylines I blended into this. -Hand of Yartar - my players are hiring them to find Harshnag. This will directly lead them into Chap 4 once we're done with Kraken's Gamble -Harthal Zymorven - the Zymorven son is here, and has lost a Sword of Giant Slaying to the captain of the Yartar Shield. I placed him as the lover of Scimitar Sally from the Hand of Yatar. The adventure introduces her, and he's there in the alley keeping watch. My player's picked up on the name instantly, piqueing their curiosity. -The Golden Goose token. The party gets to see this item up close when I had Sally flipping one in boredom. They get to gamble with them on the boat. This will definintely come back full circle in Chap 11. -Depending on where the party is in the north when they get the itch, it's simple to get to Yartar by intoducing the Harper Teleportation Network at just the right time. This opens up the extensive travel required to progress into Chap 4 and beyond.

A couple tips: -Lady Dezhia is a dead ringer for The Queen of Thorns from Game of Thrones. Keep Khemid in reserve if you need to bail them out in the final fight. -Research a couple more casino games and prep them. I used "Dragon and the Thief" (not included), "Kobold's Knuckles" and "Sava" (both included). My players had a blast with casino night. One of my players was proficient in card games, so we created a version of Hold 'em he could play to get a big chunk of money. (Atalia was located in the "high stakes" room, which was invite-only in our game) -The Oozes have a psionic blast. Use it! -Wait to unleash the Otyugh until someone investigates the skinny tunnel in the Sewer. Watch them wet themselves when it pops out of the water, and only 1 or 2 players can reach it through the tunnel. After 1 or 2 rounds, now spring the Kuo-Toa on them, dropping nets on the back row, and melee with advantage. Use the KT Whips at long range, and watch the party struggle to engage on 3 fronts thanks to how slippery movement is. -In the Aboleth lair, make sure that water gets turned on! Lair actions! Water pulls them in, then shocks them, then the phantasmal force. It's worth take an opp attack on the Aboleth to keep moving and engaging weaker targets with 3 attacks and then batter them with tails. Don't forget that the water obscures vision after 10', dive and hide. This fight can be brutal! One of our players died. (6 players, level 6)

Overall: A+++ would Aboleth again.
