I am a huge fan of the authors. Shawn Merwin is a force in organized play with an almost endless number of amazing writing projects for Wizards of the Coast. Chris Sniezak has tremendous RPG knowledge and has also written often for D&D organized play, FATE, and other systems.

Their wealth of experience shows here, as the encounters are simple and easy to run, but at the same time provide player engagement and give the players agency in how events unfold. The two temples are really cool. The material stays appropriate for the levels, but is still wondrous and evocative. The overall story is interesting and ripe with future potential. Shawn Merwin has written about the Moonshaes for Wizards of the Coast and does a great job of drawing from the lore of this area of the Forgotten Realms. I look forward to seeing what the team does with the remaineder of the Temples of the Earthmother!

I just ran these two modules with my group. We happen to have a Moonsea Isle campaign going, and these fit right in. I have found that in 5e a full party of adventurers can take out a boss monster pretty quick, adding environmental challenges goes a long way for adding value to a boss fight. My group had a blast... Some of groups favorite moments... The pixie trying to con the party (wicked fun to roleplay as a DM) and the to exuberant sentient polearm (also really fun to roleplay as a DM)... And for those of you who run this, Failbhe is pronounced FALL-uh-vuh at the end of the second dungeon (I asked Shawn Merwin on FB). Happy hunting!

As a long time Realms fan, this is another one of those products that really shows what I hope the Dungeon Masters Guild can be used for.

The Moonshaes haven't gotten a lot of official love in a long time. This adventure uses what we know about the current state of the Moonshaes and has a suitable amount of fantasy Celtic feel to it, which is essentially the whole point of the Moonshaes.

While it's not an earthshatteringly new concept in adventures, it is very much what 5th edition had attempted to be thus far--a return to the solid feeling of D&D past, with a cleaned up presentation to make everything run more smoothly.

While I haven't run the adventure, from reading through it, it seems to be a good, solid, fun adventure that definitely feels like it belongs in the Moonshaes. If you remember the 3.5 days of Dungeon Magazine, I'd say that this feels more connected to the Moonshaes than most of the Forgotten Realms content that made it to the page in that magazine (barring adventures written by people like Eric Boyd, etc.)

My biggest complaint is that there is one encounter in the adventure that, if not handled well by the DM, could devolve into one of something similar to one of the less interesting skill challenges from 4th edition. That said, there is good context for the encounter, it just depends on how well the DM and the players get into describing the situation.

Looking forward to future installments of this series.

This is an excellent adventure. It has a few minor flaws, but not of major consequence. Full review on my site: http://merricb.com/
