After a heated discussion with Krynnspace's gnomish delegation, we apologize for not including the Welk and Yawl Wagon in Lost Ships: Rediscovered's initial release. As promised, when this book hit its Silver metal we dropped a 2.0 update including even more Lost Ships, plus space-to-submersible vessels like the Necrosub, Shrimp Ship, Acorn and more. You can look forward to further updates expanding SJ-LSR1 when it hits Electrum, Gold, Platinum and Adamantine awards! Each update will add another 10 or so vessels so that at Adamantine, well over 100 ships will be available inside this humble compendium.

Ships added in the Electrum Award 3.0 Update:

  • the Githyanki fleets (Astral Skiff, Astral Brig, Planar Raider)
  • the Illithid fleets (Illithid Dreadnought, Illithid Lance, Boreworm)
  • the Beholder fleets (Tyrant Despot Ship, Tyrant Dictator, Tyrant Scout ship)
  • Aerochariots and a tabaxi mercenary company called the THUNDERCLOWD that fly them
  • modern and archaic Anglerships
  • Bull of Ptah, detachable ramming fighters that replace a Barge of Ptah's naval ram
  • the Battlesteamer and it's mighty crank-powered railgun
  • Containership
  • Escapeas
  • Jack-O-Jammer
  • Grell Patriarch class blimp
  • Shankship
  • Zephyrship

Ships added in the Gold Award 4.0 Update:

  • Dwarven Axe
  • Scytheship
  • Settlercraft: Covered Wagonship, Barn Owl and Town Owl
  • Cosmic Corsair
  • Solarschooner
  • Geobukseon

Now that you have reached the Gold Award level, is there any plans to do a revamp and release it as a POD?

A whole bunch. Art from NCherriman, Beeple, SilverbladeTE, printable 3d models by Michael Gormely and 3d Crafty, some maps and images are ours made for our campaign at home, some midjourney-to-ps/illustrator portraits, and links to LaughingBeholder's map collection and other excellent cartographers like Milby's Maps. The list will be outdated by the coming updates.

Hi there, loving the collection here! Wondering if you could help clarify something as I'm new to the Spelljammer setting. When the statblocks you have here mention crew numbers, it often comes in different. For example the Bolaship at 10/25 and the Eel ship lists a crew capacity of 4-12. Are these saying the same thing in different ways?

Also, several stat blocks list total weapon crew that's a different number. Is there a section that explains this?

Thank you in advance!

We're using the Spelljammer classic so it shows a "Minimum Crew/Max Capacity". The first number describes how many people (including the helmsman) it needs to sail, the second number describes the number of medium-sized creatures a ship can supply with air for 4 months.

The Eel ship's "4/12" would be 4 crew at minimum, air for 12 crewmen for 4 months, and your weapons crew number will depend on how you outfit your individual ship. If you throw three mangonels on an Eel, the 15 crew required would stress your air envelope. The Bola can run with 10 minimum crew and holds 4 months worth of air for 50 gnomes (as they're small sized). If we grab the Flying Pyramid stat block, it reads "crew capacity: 6/90 (weapons crew 80)" so 6 minimum crew, 80 to fill all weapons stations, and 90 maximum to not stress the air envelope.
Thank you for this comment- We'll touch the crew numbers up across the board and add a Ship Stat profile breakdown to the next update to clear that...See more

This is cool stuff! Can we use the ship stat blocks that you made here in titles that we publish on DMs Guild? If so, how would you like to be credited?

We would absolutely love that! Get those ships in the air and let the adventures flow!
If you could, just include a link to Lost Ships: Rediscovered in your credit section to help folks find it after playing your adventure!

Excited to see what you're creating!

Thanks! I'll leave a review after a thorough read. I appreciate that you did the work of converting the 2e ships to 5e.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
