EB-20 Old Scores

ADD TO WISHLIST >

THE END HAS COME!

The adventurers return to Salvation as champions, but old scores remain to be settled. The Oracle of War holds the key to Eberron's future and whoever claims it will become master of their own destiny. It's time for the final reckoning. Optimized for APL 20, this is the conclusion of a quartet of adventures, the Flames of War storyline.

The Oracle of War campaign is a 20-part standalone story for the D&D Adventurers League. You can play this adventure as part of your own Eberron: Rising from the Last War campaign, or as part of the Oracle of War organized play campaign. While this campaign runs under the umbrella of the Adventurers League, it utilizes different rules. You can familiarize yourself with these unique campaign rules by checking out the Oracle of War Player's Guide and Oracle of War DM's Guide.

Just about to run 20. 34 Adult Dragons??? The party wouldn't last one round with 34 breath weapon attacks coming at them. Just casually drop 2000 points of damage on the table? The chances of them actually killing Graelcaliban seem to be 0% unless they did it before the dragons had a turn. Sure the party could be all split. Ok so maybe only 8 breath weapons per player so only 500 points of damage!?

Has anyone actually run this battle without holding waaaay back on the dragons' turn? Has anyone had them fight long enough to kill Graelcaliban? This seems like it needs to be heavily modified or nerfed or it will be a less-than-a-round TPK.

It appears that handout 1 (Flames of War) is simply copied from EB-19 and still contains the info about needing to stop the Lord of Blades.

If Valaara is released, are the PCs really unable to stop her? They are 20th-level PCs by this point, and Dyrrn, the mightiest of the known daelkyr, is challenge 24. It seems like a stretch to say that she is utterly unstoppable.

I think it is very strange that this is a 20th-level adventure, yet a significant chunk presents the Swords of Liberty as a major threat to these epic heroes of the Dragon Between. Indeed, the Swords of Liberty can challenge this 20th-level party with a crack squad of hyper-assassins, up to and including harpies who can cast antimagic field and at-will counterspell.

Sulring Mroranon seems to have taken the place of Antus ir'Soldorak in this adventure series. What has happened to Antus ir'Soldorak in the Aurum?

My co-GM has purchased this product.

How can this ancient green dragon be the "founder of the Chamber"? According to Keith Baker's article on the Chamber in 4e Dragon Magazine #409, "The Chamber was established following the appearance of the dragonmarks, and its first task was to study their meaning. The Chamber quickly solidified its role when its reports led to the destruction of the line of Vol and of the Mark of Death." According to page 36 of the 4e Eberron Campaign Guide, dragonmarks first appeared 3,200 years ago, starting with the Mark of Hospitality in the Talenta Plains, and the Mark of Shadow and the Mark of Death in Aerenal.

Is this ancient green dragon some 3,000+ years old?

In particular, one of the endings assumes that Graelcaliban is so important that if he dies, all of the other 34 dragons are so distraught that they lose all morale and retreat. That seems surprisingly timid for adult dragons.

Even if this ancient green dragon is the founder of the Chamber, it is rather bizarre for all the other dragons to think that his death spells the complete dissolution of the organization.

Thanks for bringing up these points. your comments have given me the impression that I would be better off writing my own ending adventure.

Has the Aurum been established as an antagonist group in previous Oracle of War adventures? If so, which?

Supporting Leerut (DDAL00-13 Cold Spell in the Frostfell). Characters who aided goliath warrior Leerut of Clan Axyaz can gain her aid in part 2.

Page 12
If the characters earned the Supporting Leerut legacy event in DDAL00-13 Cold Spell in the Frostfell, the chase ends at an opportune moment of your choosing. Undul dashes through the kitchen where Leerut now works and runs straight into her frying pan. “You helped me get here,” she grunts at the adventurers. “Now I help you.”

Did I miss something ? Been playing since 1st adventure.

In any case, err… well that’s over…

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
