Are there any plans to include magic items of common rarity? Small, fun items similar to the Cloak of Billowing or Staff of Birdcalls. I'd love to play around with Zakharan trinkets!

Hi, Adam! Thanks for your interest.

The focus of this book was converting items from 2nd (and in a couple of cases, 3rd) Edition material; the couple of new items came from our adventure Midnight in the City of Brass and our Campaign Guide. At this time, we don't have any plans to do a Trinkets book or anything similar, though I agree that sounds like a great idea!

Maybe you could write one up?!

This is a fantastic book that fills many of the conversion gaps from the Campaign Guide. A must for any serious al-Qadim DM. Any chance for a POD for this product? Now waiting for the conversion of Zakharan spells. With those done, the 5E conversion would be complete.

Thanks for the kind words!

1. PoD is unlikely at this time, unfortunately. We are open to the idea (and I'd love to have a copy on my own bookshelf, of course!) but right now there are no plans for such an option.

2. Right now we are not working on a spell conversion book, due to a couple of factors. For one, a few AQ spells have already seen publication in official sources, and for two, there are several Zakhara/Al-Qadim product by others available at this time, and we wanted to minimize overlap with those products in our own.

We have released a short book on elemental wizards that includes officially published spells organized into elemental spell lists, and we will update that product as new relevant spells are published.

Are there any plans (I know, probably not) to make this a part of the "Campaign Guide: Zakhara" book so it can all be together? It would be nice to not have a book and then a separate pdf to have to reference. Thanks for making them though!

Hi, Jeremy! Thanks for your interest.

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is no.

We had a magic item section in the Campaign Guide initially, but unlike with the monsters it was really tough to narrow the list down, and including them all just made the files and the book unwieldy. So we left in the item we felt was most distinctive and important - the items of concealed wizardry (renamed items of concealed sorcery in our book), and shifted the rest to a separate book that could focus on them.

Plus, unlike the Campaign Guide, Kazerabet's Keepsakes has a more modern look and is in full color, which is nice.

Ok-thank you for the reply. I'm going to pick up both-I just wanted to double check.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
