What truly makes a great campaign?

A campaign is not unlike a living organism. Everything has to go right in order for it to truly work. You need interesting characters, a fascinating plot, engaging players, a vivid world filled with details that betray your worldbuilding, schemes, betrayals, friendships and passion. You need love as much as you need hate and you need life as much as you need death.

In this book you will find everything you may need to spark your imagination, fill the empty notches of your world, challenge your players with problems that cannot be solved solely with violence. You will find ways to spice up combat, establish intrigue and construct engaging side quests. You will find curses to bestow upon your players and you will find ways to make death exciting.

In essence, what you will find in this book is how to make your campaign's heart beat to the rhythm of a truly epic story; your own story built upon the foundations of WORLDBUILDING ESSENTIALS.

The contents of the PDF are stellar, but I do have one big, glaring question.

Why are the contents of the PDF un-copyable?
There's a lot of good content in the PDF, but I can't copy it over into my OneNote or campaign manager of choice.
I don't understand why you would do that. I want to use bits and pieces of the PDF in my campaign, but I can't now.

I mean, I already bought the PDF. I'm not gonna steal the contents.
There's also nothing stopping me from typing things over so if the idea was to prevent people from moving the contents of the PDF beyond the PDF itself, well thats not gonna work.
I don't mean to sound offensive, but do you really expect somebody to pull up the PDF everytime they wanna reference one of the NPCs? To carefully type over entire statblocks?

The only thing this is doing is annoying people who already paid for the product.

Hey Blanket. I understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience, but the reason copying is not allowed is because of the actual font used in the tables. It is encoded and for some reason cannot be copied no matter what when exported in PDF format (and quite frankly I have no clue how to fix that). Thus, it would be even more frustrating to be able to copy the text of the lore but not the stat blocks for example.
You might wonder why we did not use another font, well... that is because what we use is the lookalike of the original D&D one and we could not find/purchase the latter, but we wanted to stay as close to that style as possible.
I hope you understand and again, sorry for the trouble.

Would you consider adding an additional PDF to the files that uses a different font and can actually be used?
It kinda sounds like you're using form over function with the current state of things.

Hi Alexander Kami and Nikolas Totief,

I want to say that your product has really helped out my game a lot when I use it on Fantasy Grounds. How the team created preset Inns and Menus for those last moments my party wanted to go to an Inn. The curses with DC and what they do are useful for me in the future ideas for the campaign. I do love the character idea table and found it useful for Npcs!
My name is Zuki, and I’d love to help you make this product available for the folks who use the Fantasy Grounds virtual tabletop and listed for sale on the DMsGuild. I work with a team of freelancers from Grim Press. We work with all content creators, from Adamantine best-sellers to brand-new authors, and I’d love to chat about how we can make your product available for a new audience.
We work on a 50/50 royalty split (no up-front costs) and will take care of everything from product listing to advertising. The involvement required on your end is pretty much negligible; I’d just need a copy...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
