You can also get this product in Fantasy Grounds format - Click Here

This is an introductory adventure to Eberron and Sharn. It is written for 3-6 characters of levels 1 to 5. This adventure showcases the versatility of urban adventures in Sharn. The adventure takes a party of characters from the lowest and more dangerous parts of the city, the lower wards and The Depths, to the highest and most exclusive neighborhoods in the upper wards and the Skyway.

This adventure has it all. There are roleplaying opportunities, underground exploration, interesting NPC's, a flying chase scene on flying vessels, and a BBEG with enough charisma to captivate any player.

This is what's included in the download

  • Adventure PDF - bookmarked and with hyperlinks.
  • Printer Friendly PDF
  • Map files for DM and PC in high resolution
  • Roll20 compatible maps
  • Detailed maps of Sharn of every ward and city section

This adventure has a lot of similarities to The Forgotten Forge, in that the PCs are sewer spelunking to find an artifact related to the creation of Warforged (or so I gather). There are also Morgrave U faculty as main NPCs (who, by their given specialties, may actually know each other).

Have anyone ran the Elven Tower set of adventures alongside the original Forgotten Forge campaign? How did you go about linking the two?

You are a man of culture! We did base our first adventure (Missing Schema) on the original Forgotten Forge. The adventure is supposed to be an alternative to it so merging them both would make them rather redundant.

However, the 2nd and 3rd adventures are 100% original content that is not a revamped version of anything.

I was noticing a ton of similarities -- I totally wondered if you based The Missing Schema off Forgotten Forge.

I've already run my players through the Bloody Bridge in Forgotten Forge... Guess I need to cobble together some sort of hybrid. :D

If you've already run that then you may skip this one as it is rather redundant, except the ending. Feel free to explore the two sequels as you can jump directly into them without playing this one. There are even some free samples here in the guild so you can preview them without committing to purchase.

I was thinking of having Lady Elaydren up with Professor Daela and Kant -- It would make sense that Bonal Gelden and Daela would know each other, so maybe they were working together to find the missing schema. Elaydren's ring is required for the journal, but they don't know the party has the journal so the first thing they'll ask them to do is find it.

After that, it would run mostly like the Missing Schema, though maybe with The Rat's Market as their way in instead of going down through the Cogs. Bloody Spear would be working for the Lord of Blades, and instead of Arthemis d’Cannith at the end, it would be Cutter from Forgotten Forge w/ Bloody Spear trying to take the schema.

Off the top of your head, do you think any of that would mess up Sharn II and Sharn III?

Also, I wanna run yours because you have significantly more description than the original adventure.

Nah that works! Bloody Spear returns in Sharn II to help but it is stated in a sidebar that they flee if things get tough. B.S. working for the Lord of Blades as a scout/spy would not be part of the vanilla adventure but you may reveal that later on for future entanglements. If things get too hot with bloody spear in the missing schema, you may just replace them with a different warforged in Sharn II.

Hi all,

Can someone tell me how long a play through would take? Is this suitable one-shot material I could use to introduce a new group to Eberron?

It is perfect to introduce new players to Eberron. That is the intention of this adventure. The length, depending on the party's approach is 4-6 hours. But I'd say this is a two-shot session.

Hello,
I purchased this awhile ago but just had a chance to read through it last night. Overall, I really enjoy the plot, but there is one small lore error that I'd like to point out without providing spoilers. I'm wondering if there's a way to send private feedback?

We just uploaded a revision of this module with re-balanced encounters.
The original version was too difficult and unbalanced, especially for lower level parties.

Has the third module in the trilogy been created/published yet? I've searched and searched for anything related to these story lines / trilogy to no avail. If not, I and my fellow players eagerly await its release. :)

Just wondering the number of maps, are all the city maps shown in the preview image. What about the roll20 maps is there a battle map for each encounter?

The city maps in the preview image are all included as stand alone maps. The preview is just a composition of all of them. Apart from those, there are maps included for some of the encounters, and they come in Roll20 version as well.

The first encounter doesn't come with a roll20 map but there is a parchment map in the book that explains the location. (not for roll20 really)
There is also a flying chase which does not include a map either for obvious reasons.

Maps for a dungeon and the final battle locations are included.

Do you mean the graphic above in the product description that combines the illustrative sideview map with the other city-slices?

I meagan, sorry for the delay. I just went over all of our folders for this project and I couldn't find the image source. It seems like it was deleted after publication since the only intention was to use it in the product description. The only instance of the image now is this https://i.imgur.com/0tVt8Jv.jpg

Hello Derek. Somewhat related to this thread, but do you have the Cogs, Skyway and Lower Ward also in 2550 x 3300 pixel resolution? The included maps are only 1275 x 1650.

Hello Maik V, let me review the downloadable files and change them if needed. I just reviewed and the map files for those locations are 2550x3300 in my storage.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
