This book is the work of the D&D Adventurers League Administrators who wanted to dedicate something special to our fans on the anniversary of the original, longest running gaming convention in the world.

Happy 50th birthday Gen Con!

In this book you will find updates to Hillsfar and Myth Drannor that represent the choices of D&D Adventurers League players all over the world. We’ve taken the actions of your players, updated the world of Forgotten Realms, and given you six more D&D Adventurers League adventures that you can run for your players where they can explore the Cormanthor Forest and the Ruins of Myth Drannor.

Lost Tales of Myth Drannor includes the following adventures:

  • The Darkwood Webs, tier 1; DDAL00-02a
  • The Weirding Vats, tier 1; DDAL00-02b
  • Spawn of the Maimed Virulence, tier 2; DDAL00-02c
  • Echos of the Weeping War, tier 2; DDAL00-02d
  • Forgotten Foes, tier 3; DDAL00-02e
  • The Definition of Heroism, tier 4; DDAL00-02f

Similar to the Dungeons & Dragons hardcocver adventures, you will need a copy of the Monster Manual and Volo's Guide to Monsters to use this content.

NOTE: this copy includes minor editing updates over the published version that was handed out between Gen Con 2017 and Origins 2018.

This product won a gold ENNIES award at Gen Con 2018 for Best Organized Play Adventure!

What levels is this for? I have a table of players playing in the forgotten realms with characters who will be level 14/15 after a long time of playing SKT, and TftYP, and want to continue that journey for those PCs.

Chapters 8 & 9 provide some adventures for Tier 3 (level 11-16) and Tier 4 (level 17-20). If you're not playing an Adventurers League game, you could easily expand upon the earlier content for more high-level options.

Alternately, you may want to consider Pipyap's Guide to All of the Nine Hells - you'll find more tier 3 and 4 content there, too!

Could you run the adventures individually give some backstory or do you have to run each to really get it? I have some players who really want to go do a high tier 2 or teir 3 adventure as a 4-5 hour one shot. I was looking at the echoes of the weeping war and forgotten foes parts thinking they could be good choices

You can run these all as one-shot adventures, sure. This book isn't intended to be a linked campaign and is ideal for singular experiences like this :)

My players had a ton of fun with The Weirding Vats. The final fight with complications from the terrain make it a memorable one.

Extremely fun to run, and I recommend playing up the strangeness of the woods in the opening section. This module screams for really cranking the vibe of the woods up to 11 on the strangeness scale and then letting the players really RP their reactions to the environment. I also have reused the layouts from several of the encounters in this package as replacements for less exciting rooms in other modules.

only ran the weirding vats, its quite a nice intro session, quest to find out why the goblins are acidic, has opportunities for some very different play styles which is nice, especially for a non town based adventure. the layout for the final encounter does provide some good opportunities for stealth and theres actually a chance for players to consider planning (not that planning seems to have much success!) also was quite nice to run as one of my earlier dming experiences, not too many characters or plot points to remember and it just runs itself quite nicely! even if the spell book/robe thing did cause a touch of confusion!

Chapter 7 of Lost Tales of Myth Drannon: Echoes of the Weeping War

In this Chapter, the pcs hunt for a missing sage and must rescue him from a force field inside a fiend filled fortress in the forest.

The pcs can decided on land, sea or air and the monsters they encounter vary on which path they choose. My group chose sea and encountered a hydra and its two younglings.

I rolled low on initiative. Their Tier 2 party handled the hydra and younglings easily.

After a brief sea voyage, they arrived in the forest. I could have used a bit more background on the fortress ruins and the surrounding area. Who is the elf warrior depicted in the old oak carving? The author should have known PCs would ask about this and included a brief bio.

The most glaring omission is there no map for the entrance to the fortress. You just say the pcs go in then start the next encounter.

I was a bit confused the encounter. The pcs...See more

So, I purchased this in pdf, then had to get it refunded to purchase it with POD and PDF (needed to in order to get the discount). I would pay again for a Fantasy Ground Mod. Any chance of getting this on Fantasy Grounds?

Will there be a premium heavyweight copy of this down the line? If yes, I am holding out for that. If not, I will purchase it now.

Should I expect my local brick and mortar store to stock these? Or should we just send everyone here in order to get them? The AL community is growing and supports 4 tables on Sunday and a few other week day tables.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
