Hello guys, it's been a while! Two years actually! Me and my playeres here in Secrets of Alancia have been busy playing other games most of this time, but finally really got to come back to 5e last year. We don't like publishing material we didn't get to really playtest on real games, and that's why we took such a long hiatus. But now we're back for content we've been creating and running for the past year or so.

Today we bring you feats! And not our own homebrewed feats, like we did with our 18+1 product. This time we bring you guys what we did to rebalance the core feats. While we enjoy most of them, there's the problem that they're not all balanced against each other:

-Some of them are very weak at what they're supposed to be good at.
-Some of them give so very little that it's not worth picking even for characters that would otherwise be interested.
-Some of them are so good what they do that they become "default" options.

We like to point out Actor as a feat we consider balanced; it's meant for a face character that is trying to become a better face. It increases Charisma and gives circumstancial bonuses that help in that function. By itself it won't carry you on a combat (even though it might help you if your class is CHA-based), but that's not its objective! For its intended objective its actually pretty good.

We tried to balance other feats around this idea, mostly by turning the very weak ones into "half feats" that fit into a character's ASI progression, but also by "nerfing" the really strong ones (including but not limited to removing the "power attack" mechanics and replacing it with +1 ASI).

Anyway, we hope you guys enjoy it.

On Tavern Brawler, did you mean to remove Tavern Brawler's proficiency with Unarmed Strikes?

Hey Dave, that's part of Tavern Brawler's errata; everybody is proficient in unarmed strikes now.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
