GMs ONLY!

I enjoyed a lot about this mod, as reflected in my review. My hat is off to the designers. However, I changed a few things as I ran it to give the Act II helpers more motivation and to make Act III more of a mystery.

--In Act I: Among the ruins, casually mention where the PCs see what is believed to be old hideout of thieves' guild.

--In the swamp: H1's price is great writing and stays the same. H2's price -- one thing each PC fears. After the return, H3's price becomes clear -- as the third in the coven, the link and seal, she must become a memory of fear for the PCs. Works with the Ilmater theme of suffering for the good of others (the three help with mission to avert Ilmater's displeasure due to past actions). I also gave H3 Hunger of Hadar x3 to punch up the combat.

--In Act III: On arrival, PCs hear loud voices in the shoemaker's shop: "You've got to bring it tonight, do you hear me? Tonight! Think about the health of your...See more

It was fun! The shoemaker part ended up being a highlight of the adventure. To avoid messing with history, one PC stood by with icewater in his veins as the head of the thieves' guild forced the sobbing halfling to sign over his shop so as to save his daughter. The halfling said, "My daughter and I are leaving this stupid town!" . . . which of course was a great choice, given the fate of the town soon afterwards. At the very end of the mod, a distant descendant of this shoemaker came up to the party and said, "I'm here for the ceremony. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm supposed to give you this . . ." and handed them the permanent item. Bam! Party swoon.

I missed this reply somehow. This kind of story is what makes D&D fun, thanks for sharing!

Fantastic, I like the ease of flow for DM's and the fun mystery aspect. The exp seems appropriate as well as the gold and magic. Still has some flexibility in how characters tackle the objectives for better or worse.

So, still no certificates? Were they killed during the season 9 premiere?

The certs were killed by season 8 changes to the Con Created Content, we had hoped to still get them, but no such luck.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
