“This is an incredible supplement full of clever writing that made me think Ed Greenwood had contributed. Every spellcaster, from wizards to clerics to eldritch knights, needs a copy of this book. Sure, this book has hundreds of balanced, creative, fun, new spells to fill your arsenal and is brimming with magic items both sinister and hilarious, but it also is chock full of story bits. Names for towers, magic words to shout when casting spells, and more, this supplement is worth at least triple every penny you drop on it... I could not be more excited!” (James Intracaso, host of Tabletop Babble)

“A fantastic book filled with some of the greatest powers ever to shine in the lands of Faerun! This book is a a wonderful asset for players seeking more options for their arcane characters or dungeon masters seeking new ways to spice up their arcane villains!” (Mike Shea, author of The Lazy DM)

"Elminster’s backlog of Wizard Tower Names and the tomes within the Spellcaster’s Library are perfect for those players that love to explore the details absent from current modules and will fuel your own adventures with new possibilities. Magical Trinkets and Strange Elixir made the little artificer in me go wild! My favorite section by far pertains to exemplary options for DMs or fastidious PCs roleplaying magical dialects and phrases with Verbal Spell Components. Okay, you got me… I’m impressed. (Ruty Rutenberg, Co-Creator & Dungeon Master of Maze Arcana)

One nit picky comment about the formatting of spells. The casting time, range, components, duration block should be consistent between all spells. There are a number of spells throughout the book that has Range and Components swapped.

Hello MTB+Team! I'm currently in the process of reviewing the entire PDF; as a part of my process towards enabling a books content for play at my table, I retype everything to help me memorize it. After many days, I just finished up with all of the spells, and the majority of it is awesome content! However, I did find a couple of issues; a few glaring balance issues, but majority is just editing stuff. I will list these issues below! I hope this helps you all improve this book and make it the best version of itself.

Azuth's Alteration Mantle: Duration of ward is not specified.
Blade of Pain and Fear: damage type not specified.
Blastbones: enemy skeleton does not get a save, or a spell attack against enemy skeleton is not specified; may be intended, just seems odd.
Blood Frenzy: perhaps limit to before next long rest; this prevents abuse example being any time the party has a day or more of downtime/non-combat, it wouldn’t make sense to not take this spell, use it on the...See more

Seeing multiple comments going back to September, I'm wondering why Mage Armor, Greater has not been added to any spell lists and not corrected in the latest version

Question about Azuth's Alteration Mantle; how long does the ward you create last?

Out of curiosity, is the errata integrated into the current edition of this or do you need to download both to get a cohesive product?

Hey this collection is absolutely fantastic, alot of the spells are brilliant and really fit within the game. My biggest suprise is how well balanced ALL of these spells are, on my first read i didnt see any i wouldnt be happy to insert into my game, that alone deserves a massive round of applause, well done. The other section in the book are just as fantastic. The Verbal components section is now nestled on my DM screen and is so fun to use! :)

I do ask, as there are so many spells, is there a website, database or app that has these spells accessible, cause that would be amazing for ease of use.

Either way this product is phenomenal, and a amazing addition to your already prestigous line of works. Thank you to Faerun and back!

Any other than the initial errata stuff included like some of the concerns regarding balance? Or are you pretty happy with it is?
Very much appreciated either way, just looking to print like others :)

We made adjustments in the errata where we thought they were appropriate. Otherwise, we think the spells are well balanced - do you have any specific concerns?

Any idea on an ETA of when the errta may be implemented into this original PDF? Want to buy, and then print it into a bound book, but obviously don't want to print until finished.

Started combing through for anything that stood out to me, if his is too obnoxious just let me know and I'll stop haha.

Page 25 - ACID FOG - Needs clarification on whether or not creatures within the cloud make saving throws at the beginning of their turns subsequently after casting if they remain in the fog (For example see wording of STINKING CLOUD [PHB 278]). Also unsure if saving rolls are made during the initial casting (in the case of STINKING CLOUD [PHB 278] I believe saving rolls are only made at the begging of a creatures turn in the cloud.

Page 29 - ANGER OF THE NOONDAY SUN - The duration (Instantaneous) has a period '.' behind it where others don't. Pointing this out for the sake of consistency.

Page 31 - AWAKEN CONSTRUCT - The size reffering to the size of the construct, "large", is not capitalized. Convention shows size should indeed be capitalized (See. Bigby's Hands [PHB. 218]). This change would also be consistent with other spells in your book...See more

In relation to your note on Awaken, Mass - Naming a value to the components does not mean that there is an assumption the components are consumed. It does mean that you require those specific components on hand (PHB 203), but has nothing to do with consumption. If the spell requires consumption, it will state it (or at least it should).

It's worth noting that I can't currently see the specific spell, so more just noting the established conventions per the PHB. (if a cost is indicated for a component, a character must have that specific component before he or she casts the spell ... If the spell states a material component is consumed by the spell, the caster must provide this component for each casting of the spell - PHB 203)

Is there a possibility of this every coming out in the form of a hard copy if there's enough interest?

Why is there an Errata for a PDF? Please just update the original PDF. I’d rather have one correct PDF and not have to switch between an incorrect one and a partial rules update. It seems like so much more work to create a second document that references a page number, section, and updated rules, when you could just go back to the original document and update that section. I’d like to buy this when the Errata is gone. Any Idea when that will be? I really want this!

This is just a guess, but they might be gathering bits and pieces as they learn about what's needed with the intent of doing a major update once they've gathered enough, rather than updating over and over, so people only have to redownload once with all the new changes as opposed to time and again whenever a little update happens.

However, judging by the time they're taking to do that, it's also possible that they've not realised to do this, or are treating it a bit too much like an otherwise more conventional publication.

Hey there. Was the intention that Greater Mage Armor not be available to wizards? It seems an odd omission given the spell that it is based on is.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
