Calendar of Harptos - 1492 DR (Full Color edition)

Suggested Price $0.50

Through the ages, the Calendar of Harptos marks the passage of days, seasons, and even years in some fashion. Most of Faerûn uses the Calendar of Harptos, named after the long-dead wizard who invented it. Few bother to refer to Harptos by name, however, since the calendar is the only calendar they know. Now you can use it as well in your Forgotten Realms Campaing World.

This calendar comes with all the main holidays listed in Sword Coast Adventurer´s Guide and had all the moon phases of the Year 1492 DR. Easy to use, you can adapt it to serve as player´s journal or a Campaing Organizer, you can even use it just for fun as a beautiful prop in your game table. The Calendar of Harptos of 1492 is easy to addapt for your needs. Print in full color and use any kind of binding of your choosing (Saddle Stitching, Spiral Wire Binding, Wire-o Hanger etc).

Leave your comments of this product bellow. All comments and suggestions will serve to create a more elaborated and effective version of this calendar in the future.

This is such a great idea, and looks very pretty. Unfortunately, in addition to the issues with phases of the moon that others have noted (in addition, it is stated by Wizards that the full moon occurs on the first of each month, not where you've placed them), this calendar is out-of-date as of the Second Sundering - which 1492 is. For instance, the Spring Equinox no longer falls on 19 Ches but instead falls on the annual holiday Greengrass, which you correctly place after 30 Tarsahk. I do hope you create a new version of the Calendar of Harptos.

What's going on with the lunar cycles? The names or icons or something are backwards... Waxing means becoming full and waning means going away. A full moon means the moon is fully visible, and a new moon means it's black. So a waxing crescent means that the moon was totally black, and now the first little sliver of it is visible... but in the calendar, instead of cycling like,
Full, 3rd quarter, waning crescent, new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, full,
the moon cycles like,
full, 1st quarter, waxing crescent, new moon, waning crescent, third quarter, full
...and it just makes no sense.

Additionally, having the full moon indicated by a black circle, and the new moon indicated by a "white" or hollow circle is very confusing since I'm pretty sure modern commercial calendars use the opposite symbols, with black meaning new moon and white (outlined circle) being full moon.

Also, maybe this is just me, but the lunar cycles don't seem to match those...See more

There is an error of the full moon in the flamerule. It skips ahead a few days then back on schedule. Otherwise very nice work.

Love this calendar (it's the main reason my home campaign is set in 1492) but would love a black & white printer friendly version if at all possible.

Excellent Work! I wonder though, is there a way to exclude the paperback background of the pdf and leave it blank? It would be better for printing and writting.

PS> Sorry for my rough-spoken english, i'm from Brazil.

This is absolutely beautiful work, however when 1492 is over in my campaign I'm out of luck. How about one with a space to write in the year? Or do you have plans to make multiple years?

I second this. Would love to have something that expands over multiple years. Or even if there was a 1493 DR calendar I would be happy. Its such a great product.

One minor thing I noticed: There ceases to be a new moon beginning in Eleint. Is there a reason for this?

Hello Gary.

You mean to write a header in each column as "First-day", "second-day" (...) and ninth-day and Tenth-day just like described here in this paragrafh from Sword Coast Adventurer´s Guide?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
