Suggested Price $2.95

Zealous agents of the divine, Inquisitors bring holy Judgement to the battlefield to smite their enemies and support their allies. Using their devout following and innate sense of righteousness, an Inquisitor in battle is nigh unstoppable.

Choose an inquisition to reflect the mission your faith has sent you on. Join the Inquisition of Arcana to hunt down powerful magical artefacts to strengthen the church or protect the people from its misuse. Those of the Inquisition of Conversion bring others to their church with silver tongues and a booming voice. Those who walk the path of the Inquisition of Shadow lead a life of lies and secrecy, infiltrating cults, or rival churches to steal their knowledge, or kill their leaders. Finally, those of the Inquisition of Strength fight hard for their churches and its saints, protecting them with diligence.

This is the Pay What You Want Version of a Larger Product, to see more of the Inquisitor, including two additional Inquisitions, the Inquisition of the Flagellant, which allows you to pay a blood price for greater power, or the Inquisition of the Pursuer, which transforms you into a hunter of the wicked, who seeks to destroy evil before it can arise.

This is a really cool project! Although, I understand the intent for the Inquisition of Shadow's shadowed blade and deceiving darkness, I notice something that seems slightly off. Shadowed blade appears to have two functions: gain a slight damage bonus while (for the most part) hidden, and to give an enemy disadvantage on it's saves against judgement until in the next turn. While this seems like a noteworthy feature, it requires you to first: find a place to hide, then spend your action to make a roll to hide, then wait till your next turn to use the judgement. Of the five judgements that require you to make saves, only one of them can use a bonus action. Thus, it makes you spend your entire action to give an enemy disadvantage on a save against a feature that repletes on a short or long rest, taking up a lot of your action economy, which doesn't really fit well with the tone and style of the class.
Additionally, deceiving darkness seems to be intended to synergize with a lot of the other features of the...See more

(also, inquisition of strength gets a first level ability that relies on something they don't get until 3rd level.)

The suggestions are much appreciated! Shadow has always been in an odd place. The disadvantage on saving throws against judgements is meant more for ambushes than to be used in combat, but I can see the damage being lacking. Deceiving Darkness as well is a little awkward. I like it a lot, but maybe it could be more powerful (just gives you a full action?)

Fire of Belief is a big oversight on my part, but I know just how to fix it. I'll get on that asap.

Counterheal is on the spell list, but I cannot find the spell referenced anywhere? Is it a typo?

Yes, sorry. I have a lot of homebrew spells on my own personal version of the Inquisitor and I must've missed that one when removing all the others

Copy that.

Are they available in any of the other material you have up on the site?

Sorry for the slow reply, I only just saw these, but yes, they and some 150+ other spells are available in my "Complete Archive of Esoteric Secrets", which is about $4.99. Though, about half of the book can be gotten for free in the form of five smaller files that contain some of the spells you mentioned in a previous comment. Take a look through those, to see if you'd want to spend money on the whole thing.

The Judgement of soul-burning says it deals necrotic damage, but in the exalted text it states, "The target creature instead takes d12s of necrotic damage instead of d8s, and the Judgement itself ignores resistance to fire damage."
What fire damage is it referring to?

In the Shadow inquisitions spells, it lists disguise self twice as a first and second level spells.

I love the theme of this class, However I noticed a few issues I thought I'd point out. These are issues found in version 1.5

1. On the class table the second domain boon is noted to be received at level 15. Where as on the feature description it is noted to be received at level 13 instead. Furthermore it mentions the first boon to be received at 7th level.
2. The feature "Holy Scourge" for pursuers, Is missing the c so is instead Holy Sourge.
3. The class table states that from level 17 onward the Inquisitor can know 7 Judgements. The issue being that there are only seven on the class pdf. Some of which are locked to Inquisitions. With that in mind the highest amount of Judgements available is 4 out of the listed 7 even though 7 can apparently be learned.
4. Some of the "Esoteric Secrets" spells can not actually be found in the Esoteric secrets pdf page on this site.

Hope these criticisms help and I look forward to seeing the class improve. Good...See more

Judgement of Soul Burning is kinda weak. Might I suggest increasing the size of the damage die, or making the number of damage die equal your judgement bonus.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
