Could you update the module so the NPC have their associated index?

NPCs - Alphabetical Index
NPCs - Challange Rating Index
NPCs - Class Index

These are currently missing, compared to other dmsguild fg modules.

DGM:

I am not the creator here, but I can shed some light... Hope it's appreciated.

There are only two ways to make that functionality happen (that I know of) in FG.

One way is to build the module using par5e (which is now a non-public, proprietary process) that is not currently allowed for DMs Guild items by SmiteWorks USA, LLC.

The second way is to build it using Engineer Suite (masq.net).

So your specific question as to "can you update..." is not possible (as far as I know), the entire project would have to be REDONE from scratch to accommodate that request.

I hope that helps explain it. Isabel may have more to say...

Rob

PS I used Engineer Suite to build Monsters of the Guild, but as far as I know, there are no other titles on DMs Guild that include this functionality or ARE THERE? I would like to know.

I don't think I can do anything about it personally, perhaps you can contact customer service and they would help you out.

How many of the monsters included in this product are redundant in what is already included in the monster's manual, tome of beasts, and other similar supplements? If there are many redundancies, what advantage does this product have over those others?
Thanks in advance; that info will help me decide when considering purchasing.

Hi Patrick, I'm sorry for coming back on you this late. The comment must have slipped under my radar. I made sure to have no overlap with any of the existing official D&D material. However, since its launch, WotC has put out material including chokers, vampiric mists and su monsters. All three of these are in the Critter Compendium with a few significant differences in their rules yet. For example the Vampiric Mist in the Critter Compendium is a Monstrosity as opposed to an Undead, and generally speaking, the Critter Compendium versions are higher powered.

Other than that, there are some creatures that are variations or subspecies of existing monsters, like Girallon Alphas, Elder Redcaps. Xvart Degenerates and Meenlock Half-Spawn, that can add additional challenges and tactical options for encounters with these monsters. The vast majority of monsters in the Critter Compendium is still unique to it.

As for overlap with Tome of Beasts, the only one I'm aware of is that both include...See more

This is FANTASTIC! Great job Tobias. FYI tokens are missing for Harrier Effigy and Wild Giant. Also, I would like to have seen a story entry (introduction?) explaining the "book". Really great work though! Love it.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
