Hi I'm sorry but I am looking for something to expand or replace the magic item creation system in 5e, no one has reviewed this product, I would be more inclined to buy it if i could evaluate it before hand or if there where some reviews

I very well understand the hesitation in putting money toward something that may not be the resource you truly want for your game and wasting good coin. I personally like to peruse a book cover to cover before making the call, unfortunately the reviewing system on DMG is dictated by the system and only allows for a limited sampling of the product. I would love to get some reviews on this, not only in hopes of good reviews, but also for information that could improve the product. Alas none have been forthcoming to date. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have here to help you decide or copy/paste a sample Magic Item Formula or a bit of the extensive components list. Just let me know.

Fixed some wording in the Enchant Item spell. Defined the conversion of spell slots to charges in the Simple Charge spell and corrected the math. Added a defined quality chart to the end of the work.

Please post any errata/typos/etc. you bump into here and I'll get if fixed and updated files posted. I notice a booboo in the Enchant Item spell that is being fixed with an update soon, just want to get a few things per update in. Thanks.

I have a questions regarding the "Simple Charge" spell. Do the spell slots expended equal 1 Charge in the wand regardless of spell level? If so the math seems wrong in the description and should be 11 charges added. Otherwise, I can't figure out where the extra 2 charges come from.

Brian, thanks for the purchase and the needed fix!! The math and function on the Simple Charge spell was a bit off as it should reflect converting spell slots to charges based on the level of the spell in the item. I have rewritten (and will update the file soon) it as:

Simple Charge
1st level transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 5 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

This spell places charges into a simple wand or other multi-charge expendable item and allows a caster to convert any remaining spells slots into charges. For example, a wizard with two third, four second, and five first level spell slots currently available casts Simple Charge into a wand. He can place eighteen spell slots (3+3+2+2+2+2+1+1+1+1+1-1 for the casting of Simple Charge) worth of charges into the into the item with a single casting of this spell. If the wand was designed to cast a second level spell, this would then add 9 total charges for the simple wand, if it were...See more

I have a follow up question regarding this. What is the purpose of the Simple Charge Spell if each simple wand has 25 charges?

Simple Wands – These wands are created using the variant rule in the Dungeons & Dragons 5E Dungeon Master’s
Guide, page 141. They cast the requisite spell at its lowest casting level using a single charge. These wands have 25
charges when created, do not automatically recharge, and cannot be recharged by any means. The wand crumbles to dust
when the last charge is expended.

Thank you for clarifying.

Excellent question Joshua and I apologize for the lack of clarity. The "Simple Charge" spell is what actually places the '25 Charges' into the simple wand. Page 10 has the formula for a 'simple' Wand of Fireballs which lists the 'Simple Charge' spell in the instructions. Since Fireball is a minimum 3rd level spell, the 'Simple Charge' spell would need to transfer 75 total spell levels into the simple wand as it would require 3 spell levels per charge to power the wand. That is if you wanted to max it out on potential. I hope this clarifies the spell use for you! Thanks for you purchase!!!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
